Sell the lot and use the money to build a Hornet from scratch!
As it’s not original equipmet, I can foresee terrible certification issues if anyone wanted to fit one to their warbird. Having said that, MT818 (the prototype Tr 8) still has a door for a spin recovery parachute. Maybe they could just make it’s parachute bigger!
There is at least one light aircraft that has a parachute as standard
I’m hoping (against hope, maybe) that the Fury will be ready in time for Legends. I suppose even if it does the required test hours in time that the paperwork would stop it from displaying?
They must have bought shonky Chinese rip-offs then because the “Bremont P-51 Limited Edition” isn’t available yet – it is being “launched” at Legends although it is apparently being showcased at Basel 2011 and isn’t available until “Autumn”…
…and a snip at only £7,450.00
Thanks for the correction! But, alas, neither my income or my conscience would let me spend that much on a watch, anyway!
This is a return to Duxford – this is the aircraft that had been thought to be Twilight Tear – but wasnt.
Bruce
Thanks, Bruce! – Wondered what happened to that one!
Some of it’s old skin are on people’s wrists, oddly enough!
Hawker Hurricane by Francis K Mason springs to mind
I suppose £1.75m is not bad value, considering that E-Type ‘Speedster’ Jezza was testing on Top Gear last night was £500k.:eek:
…Or that Chris Evans recently paid £12 million for a Ferrari!
Maybe they could mock-up some Jumos and cowlings? It would help the dodgy spars. And it would look good next to the ‘109
Quite a few remains in Russia, but know-one (with LOTS of money!) seems interested-or maybe not so easy to get them out these days!
The building in front of their hangar, perhaps?
Thanks, BWB!
It is a terrible shame about this lovely old aeroplane. Just great that everyine managed to get out!- And I managed to avoid seeing it’s death throes until just now!^^^
Wish they wouldn’t do any of that. It’s all do easy to lose all of them with just one relatively minor problem
