As for the triangular bit you are refering to, I don’t know what you mean but looking at the tails they are different.

My guess is because we bought early models our PC-9’s, and subsequent upgrade to 9A (Hence the Underwing stores tanks) and grey colour scheme.

The 9’s are used for pilot training, the 9A’s are used for FAC (Forward Air Control) that’s why they have the stores under the wing, they also have uprated engines.

It is possible but the question is more of a case of is it feasable, the SPY-1D radar has better performance in this area so the only reason I can see you’d want to do this is to develope a lower costing unit or a unit that is easier to export to countries that are not on the favoruites list of the US but not on the bad list either (e.g. New Zealand).

What is the PC-12M? Never heard of that one? Do you mean just a normal PC-12?

If so this will be the second AF with the PC-12 in service after the SAAF.

When the RAAF bought it’s hawks, the competition was long and drawn out, but we did realise the value of the Hawk over everything else, and now we have 33 in service and doing very well at that.

Perhaps the struggle is not over the hawks price but it’s capabilities, we have the Mk 127 LIFT the one that india is looking at is the Mk 115I which is very similar to the NFTC ones. India may now be deciding that they should go for the better models because they also offer weapns training as well as just advanced flight training.

Boeing is realistically on the start of a deathbed, the the F-22 doesn’t start to cometogther soon then I really don’t see what they have that can keep them going.

It would be suicidal to keep the F-15 line going, that airframe doesn’t have much more potential in it and the Hornet run will dry up as soon as the F-35 hits the market.

Realistically the F-212 and any dirivatives of it are it’s only chance, they should really start working on building prototypes of the FB-22, even if Australia is the only customer for them we’d be buying at least 24-36 so there their money back And I do think that the USAF would buy them because since the demise of the F-111 in that service, they themselves have noted a capability gap open up.

As for the Tankers, well that is another story, they are the only company over there that can produce them and that means that no matter what Boeing will have to pull their finger out and really start thinking about what will be the best way to tackle the giant Airbus Industry! AI have become the worlds number one because of the countries participating in it are sick and tired of American control, so if Boeing want to survive in the future maybe they are going to have to tell congress that they may have control over the military side but get the hell out of the airline production side.

Sorry guys , but I’m betting on the JAS-39C, everything that Brazil wants is being offered to them by Saab so it really make sence.

The only thing that the US or Russia can offer in order to save their deals is assistance in the fledgling space program, and since, neither are weilling to do that, I guess their deals will be lost.

On the other hand Help for the Brazilians may be at hand with their closer ties to India, thew Indian Governemnt deciding to buy 4 Emb-145’s for use over there.
