Well Italy won, but I will not congradulate them, what was said by that player to spark Zidane up into such a violent responce? We are talking about one very placid guy here. Italy have cheated their way through the games and now I am totally convinced that there is no justice body in FIFA. The FIFA ruling body don’t care for promotion of fair play and good sportsmanship, they are only interested in the big bucks and to bring in the big bucks you have to bring in the big teams, sure you can throw in a novelty act here and there, change areas so that lesser countries have to really fight to get in to the final games but FIFA is allegedly corrupt and, in my opinion, the Refs are complete morons.

Notice with Towers you can’t see any damage? I can see scorch marks just below the bridge in the first pic there are clearly two different scortch patterns here, one forward of the bridge close to the forward turret on the waterline and one aft of that (more like a little hole). Assessing these I’d say the Hell fire hit the forward most part (hardly any hitting power with this type of missile against a ship), the hole will definatly be the Harpoon, I have seen these hit, bury themselves and explode internally. Judging by this hit, it would have been a kill, it’s right on the fuel oil stores and also would have taken out most of the crew which would have worked in this area, only those in engineering and emergency stearing would have survived (about 20 people if that).

Buchanan is more interesting, if you look at the aft pic carefully you can see that they removed the rudder and all it’s controls as well as the nixie

And Protugal have played a stedy and consistant game, they deserve to be there, I hope they beat the likes of Zidane and Henry- they are a good couple in the stroke role but Maniche is a good player and also a good reallier for support.

Interesting: Graham Poll was on the morning show here today resigning himself to never being a ref again. He said that he watched the game on DVD after the match and he couldn’t believe his mistake, he admitted that the players had gotten to him (especially Simunic who would not stop yelling at him and his size was very intimidating as well). Mr Poll said that after 26 years being a ref making these kids of mistakes is inexcusable and he’ll be lucky to have a future as a ref. He did beg the Australian Team and more importantly the Australian people for forgiveness.
