But in all honesty, if you want really serious weird designs, there is only one place to go, have a chat to Burt Rutan.

I personally think that India’s problem is that they want the best all the time (which they have a right to), but fail to realise that to keep on top you have to have something in service already. Updates are a good way of providing a good threat deterance since you have something there already, but to keep wanting the best in a plane that has not even entered service is just rediculous.

China had/has a huge force and would win a war simply by attrition. they already have planes in which to update and progress from. India has truy wasted a full decade trying to get the best tech in the best plane at the best price. I know many Indians and they are really upset with the barganing antics of their government and would rather their government bit the bullet and bought something to show that they have a force to be reckoned with.

From an Aussie I can say thanks for the pics mate, we haven’t seen the Canberra in our skies for many years (apart from the lone airshow varient that is owned by a museum now and doesn’t fly all the time).

Ok so the IN have selected a design “Based on” but not the Cavour. I mean if you are going to operate STOBAR aircraft you need the angled flight deck right?

There are a few concerns I have with what has been mentioned…

I know it’s an old point and we have said it before time and time again, There are four countries who have built carriers bigger that 30Kt: Britain, France, Russia and The United States, why keep persisting that only three countries have done it?
