Lancaster, I seem to recall being on the rear Starboard side. Isn’t the Mosquito’s also on the Starboard side? Just two that spring to mind.

And thinking of it, the Warrior that Snapper and I had the pleasure of flying in with Steve Young, you climbed into that from the starboard side.

Anyone here catch this movie about the SAS late last night on BBC1? Personally i really enjoyed it, especially the Westland Wasp shots. Would the Wasps have been used by the SAS at this time?

The films a bit knaff, it was when it was first released. Made to make Lewis Collins look butch, after the Professionals.

I’m not sure about Scouts, they probably did use them. However they use to use a former anti-aircraft site just to the South West of Filton for training purposes back in the mid 1980’s. Back then they would be dropped in by a Wessex or two.

I think the site is still there, however as I haven’t lived in the area for 16 years it may now be a housing estate.

After an over night in the centre of the civilised world, the guys and their support left Jersey this morning. Engine start 11.25 take off at 11.45.

Managed to **** up the take off shots, there is a moral to the story, don’t change lenses mid steam and then forget to re check the exposure. C’est la vi as they say in certain parts of the world.

Must be an interesting job flying that lead plane (a Piper Seneca?). Look to one side and you have a Spitfire and on the other wing you have a Hurricane. What more can you ask for? 😉 😀
