    T/o Hemswell, hit by flak and subsequently destroyed in a fatal crash landing near Oresund, Sweden. P/O Earl, an Australian, is buried at Kviberg, the rest of the crew are at Halsingborg (Palsjo) Municipal Cemetery.

    I tend to agree with JBS and VoyTech, R1038 was lost without trace, and the crew are remembered on the Runnymede memorial, X9879 was shot down near Kiel and the crew killed, which to me say’s it was destroyed on impact.

    But at a guess I would say that this is a Whitley V. Halifax would have an upper turret !!!!

    Neither would pose for me this evening, Willow the black and white cat just played cool, and Cinders the tortoise shell, was on her way-out on the tiles, she was not going to pose for anyone when the prospect of fresh mouse meat was on the menu.
