What’s normal ?????
Great programme, just one thing I picked up from the narrator, was the Halifax really as unreliable as he seemed to portray ?
That’s a very cruel accusation, Nick. I doubt you can even get a neon kit for a Ferrari.
I bet you can, and the same for a Sea Fury !!!!
Do the Americans use the phrase CHAV, or do they have one of their own making ?
I see your ability to speak in a recognisable language has not improved depsite the added time “with the forum down” to work on it.
Ian, you should’ve joined in the party. Some of us met up on WIX to ease the pain of a sick forum. Having said that, parts of this forum don’t seem to have recovered – that carbuncle of a rant about Iraq’s still here.
It was good to have a break I suppose, we had a few things to do over the weekend.
But now we’re back, what interesting subjects should we consider for intellectual debate ????
Wow that was a bad case of cold turkey, but I’m beginning to recover now. The present MRSEN830 wondered what was wrong, we actually had several meaningful conversations over the weekend, back to normal now though.
I’m back but stuck in Guernsey until this afternoon.
Dixons have said they will no longer stock VCR’s, it was bound to come as DVD recorders became cheaper. I paid £400 + for ours, and a few weeks alter found out you could get them for half the price.
Dave Gilmour, flies as well !!!

Obviously Anna is learning Welsh, can anyone else understand her ?
Welsh indeed. Enough to make me proud of the French blood I have.
I thought you were Albanian !!!!
Welsh would ever come in handy is when walking into a shop where everyone who has previously been speaking in English suddenly starts speaking Welsh when they sense an non-local in their midst. It’s quite quaint behavior.
The same thing happened to me in Myrtle Tydfil.

There’s actually a dispute whether Monmouthshire is actually part of Wales, geographically it is, however the people of Monmouthshire quite often refer to themselves as a separate Principality.
This is in some extent bourn out by the establishing of the Court of Great Session in 1543, a distinct Welsh system of courts based upon four three-county circuits: Anglesey, Caernarfon and Merionnydd; Flint, Denbigh and Montgomery; Cardigan, Carmarthen and Pembroke; Radnor, Brecon and Glamorgan. As Monmouthshire was not included in the system, the notion arose that it had ceased to be part of Wales.
However this idea was to bear little substance and became meaningless after 1830 when the Court of Great Session was abolished. Nevertheless, some of the rare examples of specific Welsh legislation passed between 1536 and 1900 assumed that Monmouthshire was not part of Wales. For example, the act closing public houses on Sunday in Wales did not initially apply to Monmouthshire. Even in the 20th century, it was usual to refer to the thirteen counties as Wales and Monmouthshire.
In became the County of Gwent in 1974 Gwent, Gwent was abolished in 1996, and the new units of local government, which replaced it, paid scant attention to any presumed boundaries between Wales and the old Monmouthshire.
I doubt very much if you will find Welch of much use in Tintern, Welsh is spoken a lot more in the Northern area of the Principality, towards Snowdonia and Anglesey.
