It is a French problem, isn’t it? They are in France, the ‘refugees’ are in France, the track and tunnel are private property and, I’d imagine, they have adequate security on site.
Could always get Farage down there to talk them into calling off their attempts to storm the barricades.
Please don’t call them refugees, they are nothing more than migrants.

Blue skies sir.
I would love to sit in a Spitfire, £4 doesn’t really seem like enough for what would be a pretty special experience 🙂
Right at the edge of the tree line, with power cables about 100 yards away and a hangar adjacent to the landing site. That takes serious skill and large slice of luck to be able to walk away from. Hopefully Dan Griffith is on the mend and will be back flying soon
MK912 will fly again, probably with a lot of new metal in it,
As above.
Judging by the condition P9374 and N3200 were at the beginning of their ‘restorations’, I have no doubt that we will see this Spit’ back in the air where she belongs eventually.
All things considered, this could have been MUCH worse. Thankfully the pilot was okay, and no one else was involved. 3rd party damage was minimal too.
Once you pass through a perfectly safe country (Greece, Italy, France etc) you cease being a refugee and become an economic/social migrant.
With the exception of Belgium, we already have the highest population density in the EU.

from what I’ve read, souvenir hunters have already started taking bits from DV202 and Elsie. KB999 has apparently broken up under the ice, and if that is the case then the likeliness of recovering any of it is disappearing.
I think member Johnny Kavanagh is restoring an Airspeed Oxford, I wonder if he needs one of these?
Do you have a link to his user profile? 🙂 Cheers
OK humor us.. which ones??

Private message on its way. 🙂
Okay, so it may not be airworthy, or on display, but at least it is safe. She is out of the elements, and in a financially secure environment.
There are several Lancasters that are in much more danger than her.
I know of a group that made such an offer, but he simply wasn’t interested in selling it. That was a few years ago though.
Are there plans to restore the Sunderland? I was told in 2000 that he was going to build a 1940’s atyle terminal for her and restore her to fly from the Lake by his museum?
He told me a few months ago that was still the plan.
Having spoken to Kermit about this, I can confirm that there are no immediate plans for it.
