The events in Ukraine have obviously escaped you…

Besides which, we don’t know what the world will be like in decades to come, best to be prepared.

I seem to remember there was an old saying, “The man who is tired of London, is tired of life” Must pt it on my “Bucket List.
    Jim.
    Lincoln .7

Alternatively, in the words of a wise Norfolk man:

    “A bit like London… which I spell S-H-I-T-H-O-L-E ****hole” – Alan Partridge

His music was a classic illustration of the way in which a good score can really lift a movie. Terrible shame.

One of my favourite film composers, alongside John Williams and Hans Zimmer. All of his work was great, but for me his scores on the films Aliens and Star Trek II – The wrath of Kahn really put him at the top of his game.

    Lets not forget Overloon, NL

Now on indoor display is Spitfire XIV NH649. My photo dated Sept 2010

Great to see a XIV on display, even if it is really a XVIII. There seems to be very few high back XIV survivors around. πŸ™

Great pictures, especially so considering just how bad it is to take any there.

It’s definitely a replica, but they have done an excellent job weathering it. Perhaps its storage outside was a part of that process? πŸ˜€

Ok, but I think you’ll find birth rate of the indigenous people has more to do with that than immigration. Reduce the birth rate, reduce the pressure. Problem with that, or any working age population decrease, is the aging population is expanding rapidly and the welfare state needs working people to pay for those it supports.

Are you seriously suggesting that the indigenous population should reduce the birthrate in order to support more immigrants?

And you’re 100% right about the welfare state, it is effectively a giant pyramid scheme. But importing people en masse is not sustainable, so we will have to find a way of breaking that vicious cycle.

Because Brits seem to love fey names for warbirds. “Spitty” and “Tiffy” have always made my teeth hurt. Thank heavens we never had “Fortys.” “Libbies” and “Thundies.”

I singled out Czech’ as the reason (excuse) Germany invaded was its dependency of Czech industry.

Sometimes being an indispensable neighbor can be a bad thing.

Europe needs its own 5th gen aircraft if it ever hopes to compete with Iran on the world stage…
