To quote a great Christmas film; “Wish in one hand, **** in the other and see which one fills up first.”

I’m afraid our problems are ours to solve. While our diverse race will always have differing view points, I have faith that we will eventually learn to live in relative harmony. 🙂

This is one of many reasons why the EU superstate doesn’t work. With restricted borders, employers would have no choice but to increase wages / decrease hours to attract the staff they want.

Both employers and employees expect too much these days.

No doubt – what? – dish out arms to hundreds of thousands of woman and children, many of whose husbands, brothers and fathers have already been killed. Come on!!:stupid:I don’t think some people have the remotest idea what Syria has been like for the last year. If they did I doubt they would say what they have.

    It’s a violent war zone.

If it were England being torn apart by civil war, would you honestly flee? What would that achieve, other than protecting yourself?

Pick a side, and fight for what you believe in. If these refugees had done this, it could well have turned the tide of this war one way or the other.

I abhor violence, but if these Syrians aren’t willing to fight for their future, and their children’s futures, they deserve an unstable country.

So exactly how were 2 million people displaced by civil war supposed to “help themselves”? What a bizarre notion…

    Fight.

Violence should always be the last resort, but running away solves nothing.

    “How did it compare”?

Both types are still in service.

If the Matt finish is anything like satin / matt paint found on cars, keeping it clean is a royal PITA.

There are plenty of authentic looking Mosquitoes in museums all over the world, it’s an acceptable compromise IMO.

They could make some room by sending the Halifax cockpit to Elvington… (opens can of worms, runs, takes cover). And a bit more by sending the He162 on loan to Germany. Do we really need two in the south of England?

Elvington already has an excellent Halifax recreation, and an additional sectioned Halifax cockpit replica.

It would be best served somewhere that has a high footfall, and not enough room for a full sized Halifax. Lambeth is perfect.

Perhaps he was, initially, a necessary evil. And later, a testament to the ability of people to change.

He did good and bad, but whatever people think of him, he was a significant man, who effected change in ways most people could only dream of.

    RIP.

    Not false.

The privatisation of most previous public industry (such as railways or power generation to name two) is directly contradictory to communist ideology.

It depends how you define Communism. If you’re referring to early 20th century Communism, then you’re quite right. Chinese Communism has changed to the point that it isn’t really Communism any more (to the point that my Economics lecturer at University wouldn’t refer to it as Communism at all), and it actually promotes elitism in a similar fashion to capitalism.

Hypothetically atleast we can say that Russia and US have landmass to take some N-strike. Do the Brits have this luxury? I don’t think so. Britain will be confined to History once and for all if ever she employs her N-muscle.

This is why Trident is so important. Even if the mainland was completely nuked (which is possible with the Russian arsenal – just), the retaliation would come, and it could come from almost anywhere.

Air launched nukes, and cruise missiles equipped with nuclear warheads, aren’t an effective deterrent.
