One thing that seems a bit off to me is that as Scotland is entitled to about 10% of UK military assets, is this a fair level or equipment?
This is the crux of the whole independence argument, and something Salmond is refusing to address.
Scotland makes up around 8% of the population of the UK, so does that mean they would inherit 8% of the assets, 8% of the North Sea oil, 8% of the debt?
The more Salmond wants, the greater share of the UK debt he’s going to have to inherit.
IMO, Scotland would be MUCH better served (in the case of independence) of doing everything it can to loose it’s burden of the debt, which includes minimal armed forces, and loosing much of the North Sea Oil. Once they loose the debt, and get an idea of how much GDP they will be creating, then they can start looking at defence ‘luxuries’.
Wow, I’m shocked to see such negativity in a thread like this.
He committed a huge amount of his time and resources to a charity he set up: https://www.roww.org/about_us.php
He also came across as a very ‘down to earth’ guy. He was active in various motorsports, and was known for genuinely conversing with others at track meets, and taking people out in cars they would otherwise have no access to.
A video of him visiting Mines Japan.

By the looks of it it’s not an actual problem with the aircraft itself but the GE engines because it states that BA with Rolls Royce engines hasn’t had any problems.
Seems like the press want associate any issue with the aircraft itself rather than something that is, in some ways, outside Boeing’s control
It is Boeing responsibility to assess any engines they supply with their aircraft, so it is as much (if not more) Boeings issue as it is GEs.
I turned up just before 2.20, but the run had finished before I got there 🙁
Love the night shoot pictures 😎
I’ve never really watched Dr Who, but I thought this scene was quite relevant to this forum! 😀

What era?
(Don’t say the cold war! 😀 )
I heard somewhere that they were talking of a price of around 80 quid. It looks very Zoukei Mura in construction style.

Not quite as detailed as Zoukei Mura, but much cheaper. Apparently the Tiffie will be £80-90.00, the Zoukei Mura have a base price of around £150 plus postage etc.
Thanks 🙂
It says on the link that “Big Nig” was swapped for a Spitfire. Does anyone know which one?
It would be great if one of those flights was with KA114 🙂
There isn’t the same acrimony towards UK government donations that exists towards the EU’s contribution. Don’t you think that’s odd?.
.
Our government are donating on our behalf. What’s the point in the EU donation? Why not just reduce our EU tariffs, and enable us to give more to worthy causes directly? We don’t need a European dictatorship to be charitable.
