Soldiers are also human beings, and the temptation to give into their primal urges must be overwhelming at times. In the grand scheme of things, this is a minor incident.
We have no reason to apologise to the Taliban, the term ‘moral high ground’ doesn’t even begin to describe the chasm between our morality and theirs.

Which shop? This one http://www.tremblingmadness.co.uk/
And which beers? Lots and lots of lovely Belgian brews, too many to name but more than you can get anywhere else in Yorkshire. The food here is good too, so we have a meal or a drink in the bar upstairs and then pop downstairs to buy our beers 😀
I know it well. It’s a very quirky place, but they have a fantastic selection of beers. To any forumites considering a trip to York, it’s highly recommended.

Wasn’t it Labour who introduced the green taxes, that have made heating so much more expensive?
And I believe it’s the Conservatives that are looking to axe those? And guess who’s objecting?
I’m no Tory, but they’re positively saints compared to the last lot.

DCWs contributions will be sorely missed by me. His Duxford threads have been a daily read of mine for years, and I’ve always greatly appreciated the effort he’s gone to, as I’m sure most here do.
York has the only shop in Yorkshire which sells decent beer. We make a special journey to buy our summer beers and also our Christmas beers because you can’t get my kind of beer in Scarborough.
Which shop would that be? And more importantly, which beer? 😀

She isn’t outdoors any more. A member recently posted pictures of her indoors, along with a P-61, a Yak and several MIGs IIRC.
I’m fortunate enough to live in the nicest place in the UK (In my opinion, of course) – York 🙂

The price is slightly ironic 😀

A list of payments (the amounts, recipients and their job descriptions) should be made public. Only then will we see if this is yet more waste.
If the culture of obscene backhanders continues at the BBC, we will end up losing it to private business IMO, which would be a tragedy.
