Then don’t go to the ones you can’t afford?
I sometimes/often struggle to afford things, it doesn’t mean I just take them.
An amalgamation of the majority of these cliches: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1558575/
A truly awful film.
I was going to post that myself!
I was just thinking the other day how I fancied building the Airfix Spitfire XIX and making it a film aircraft…!
Someone on Britmodeller has done that recently with the new Airfix 1/48th PR.XIX, and it looked spectacular. I’ll post a link up if I can find it again.
I fear the damage is done, and any action now will be simply closing the barn door after the horse has bolted. 🙁
Education was terrible 15 years ago, and is a whole lot worse these days. Most of the newly qualified teachers aren’t fit to teach anyone, and will simply pass on ingrained poor grammar and numeracy.
It’s easy to blame governments and teachers, but we all sat aside, watched it happening, and did nothing.
I really fear for the future of the UK.

It’s fantastic to see a Canberra back in the air!
Those where the days when you could build a Spitfire on front drive. Don’t happen any more.
Dave
Some classic taildraggers are still built on drives 🙂
I’ve never once thought Duxford was expensive. For what you get, it’s an absolute bargain. There are few places in the world that offers such an experience to an enthusiast, and during good weather, you can regularly see Spitfires and other warbirds being flown. I’m just glad we have such a place in the UK, many of the foreign members of this forum would love to have a comparable place in their countries.
If they charged £35, I’d still think I was getting a good deal.

There’s plenty of F4U footage in there… and apparently, the Hellcat is an F16F.
Love the scheme they’re painting the Hellcat in 🙂
Don’t forget, in Germany back in the mid 20s where would have been a certain young girl looking very much like these two….
Angela Merkel? 😀
Before someone else point it out (G.. know who  ), the Yacks HAD NO DSI!
That looks like DSI on that belly radiator to me 😀
She sounds fantastic at full throttle 🙂
It’s quite strange how purple is the desirable colour on many enthusiast cars. Others I can think of are Blackberry met. on VW Corrados, Mulberry on Golf VR6s, Technoviolet on many BMWs, Moora red on many BMWs (it has a deep purple pearl in it), Midnight Purple on Nissan Skylines.
I blame it on Blackcurrant CalPol 😀
