The A/C was suspended via six hydraulic jacks, we have positioned five sleeper packs front to rear, thus on realeasing the jacks ie, lowering the A/C onto the sleeper packs for her final resting where she now sits.

    Thanks Lancaster, understood.

It had no gear so it had to be resting on something.

Yes I’d rather grasped that, but Lancaster said the aircraft “is NOW on sleepers” as if this was a new thing. That’s what I was questioning.

Yeadon Aerodrome has been a part of Yeadon a lot longer than the vast majority of the community around it ….. those annoying people who moves near an airport and then whinges at being able to hear planes.

These have always been my thoughts on airport/aircraft nimbys. I would challenge you to find me more than a handful of people who have lived near a major UK airport since before the airport opened.

Interesting that these people never mention how much quieter most aircraft (even noisy dirty 757s) are now compared with say the early 90’s due to quieter aircraft. When I had 732s 727s 1-11s DC9s etc flying past my house it was far noisier than it is now.

They also never mention the economic benefits that a thriving airport brings to an area.

That said, one argument he does have right is that airport development should be supported by local infrastructure development.

Na don’t reckon so, Dickie Branson owns 20% of the company he’s well able to deal with any of the big boys

    Tell that to Virgin Nigeria!

Thinking back to my charter days, I’m guessing (and it is a guess) that monarch have sold a given number of premium seats to each of the tour operators using the flight, and that Thomas Cook have sold all of theirs whilst other tour operators haven’t.

The only way round that would be to cancel with Thomas Cook (assuming you can) and rebook with another company that still has availability (assuming they can offer the holiday you want).

Cloud 9, if you talking about specific experiences were they for pax travelling to the US? If so i would have thought this is more to do with the US immigration APIS policy than with Virgin.

On most flights we have name change comments in pax bookings, eg: Bloggs/Joo Mr (First name should read Joe)

However this is not permitted on flights to the US. All bookings must have the full name as shown in the passport.

I would imagine most (if not all) airlines charge for such changes.

I don’t think we’ve ever had a trip report give details of No2’s before!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your BA flights.

Two of the series 200s will leave the company at some time this year

    I stand corrected.

Surely that’s a diversion rather than an emergency landing.

Whats going to happen to the other 500’s

I was under the impression that the 200’s were staying in the fleet for the time being. Happy to be proved wrong on that one though.

what happened to there last S360 is it in storage?

The last Short 360, G-BPFN, was transferred to the registration G-GPBV and is now owned by a danish company. Not sure what they use it for though. Found this on My Aviation, taken at ABZ in October.
