That was what flew over mine yesterday then. I live in Cambridgeshire so I thought it was the Beech 18. Gorgeous machine! 😀

My girlfriend also has her birthday on the 11th, and boy has that caused me to take some flak over the years…

I see I’m not the only one with this problem. The girlfriend does give me grief over it. Who could blame her! Looking forward to it!

Nice update. B 17 is coming along nicely. Good work by the team. The MK 22 will be a long restoration indeed. Be great to see when TFC go for it! Might be a while by imo.

Been to a lot of the places and all are extremely interesting.

    For the big museums:

    Duxford, Hendon, Newark, Shuttleworth.

The smaller museums, well I love them: Hawkinge, East Kirkby, Norfolk & Suffolk. Control tower museums such as Parham, Rougham.

If you visit Hawkinge go down the road to the Battle of Britain mermorial at Capel Le Ferne! 😀

It was Classic Wing’s Tiger Moth G-ANPE. Apparently, and I quote “overshot on landing going over the railway tracks, through the barrier and onto it’s nose. It stopped about 10 feet from a couple of tanks, about 30 feet from the Land Warfare hall”.

If Dan flew her like he did at Rougham then he certainly did get a fantastic sending off!

thanks for the pics, what a sight. Can somebody recap who owns what, I know TFC have a Nimrod and Shuttleworth The Hind.

Historic Aircraft Collection own Nimrod II K3661, and TFC own the Nimrod I, I can’t read the code on it but the number on the side is 573. The Hawker Demon of course doesn’t have an owner at this very moment.

Lincolnshire would be the place for you in my opinion. I stayed at Woodhall Spa as well, when I was there I went to Coningsby, East Kirkby, Waddo, and visited the city of Lincoln and the castle. Fantastic area to visit with beautiful countryside buildings and fantastic history all around you! 😀

If you don’t fancy Lincolnshire again. Maybe try Yorkshire?! Good location and some cracking old airfields and the Yorkshire Air Museum.

That happened at this years Flying Legends! Hopefully if the Demon is still around the Fury can join them and, a few years down the line, the Audax!

What a sight that will be!
