andrewman,
in terms of full-blown airshows you are right with the timings(seems a long time, but it will pass quickly)….
however, for some, myself included the 2005 season will start just about as early as it possibly can with the traditional New Years Fly-in at Popham on January 1st,followed by other fly-ins at Turweston in January and February….CAN’T WAIT
YAK 11 FAN
2004 season not quite finished, one or two fly-ins at places like Popham and Turweston and not forgewtting the Autumn Airshow at Duxford the weekend after next
Thanks to all concerned with the UK airshow scene for all their efforts in 2004,keep up the good work in future years….despite some of what you may hear IT IS APPRECIATED!!!!!!
OZPLANE
BELIEVE THE FLYING DISPLAY STARTS AT 1430hrs,GATES OPEN AT 1000hrs
hope this helps mate
look forward to it….midday sounds fine
anyone else???????
a thought for a meeting point….
NeilP will be there with his stand publicising his annual AbingdonFayre event(May 1st next year,be there),why not make that a meeting point…
obviously NeilP will be there in person, and so will I at some point…
let’s hope for a good’un
HI GUYS,
ANOTHER QUICK PLUG…..
myself and NealP will be at POPHAM both days with a stand publicising Abingdon Fayre Air&Country Show2005….not to sure where-abouts on the field we’ll be,but why not come along and say HELLO!!!!!
sounds interesting….keep me up-dated
Hi all,
myself and NealP were down Yeovilton way last Thursday just on a general look-round….the Sea Fury was outside the RNHF hangar undertaking engine ground-runs about mid-morning…..the Sea Hawk was visible inside the hangar with her wings folded, with another Sea Hawk outside the hangar in a less than good condition…..could this be some kind of spares-ship???????
nice picture-story JDK……& good on yer Haireyplane for taking the time to give JDK the treat…..
WELL DONE BOTH OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!
mike,
my info re-VF512 was taken from an Air-Britain civil register book for 2002….as G-ARRX it is listed as an Auster 6A,but in the civ/mil cross reference section it is listed as an Auster AOP6…..either wat it is listed as being based at Popham in the markings of 43 OTU.
I note you also mention Tiger Moth K4259/G-ANMO…..this is based at White Waltham, but owned by a very good mate of mine who lives in the Didcot area, and is a member of my own Oxfordshire Aviation Group….
Any more queries, will be only too glad to try to help!!!!!!!
Regret can’t make OW this,or next weekend, but should be at Woburn on Sunday…..though will be working there so little time for socialising
MIKE,
“VP512” could well be VF512/PF-M,an Auster AOP6 with a civil registration of G-ARRX,
hope this helps
arm-waver,
cheers for that mate, here’s hoping common sense prevails!!!!!!!!!
As to the rest,if it does go ahead please come and give us all the support you can
Neil
I believe the Battle unit at Benson did have some Polish personel during WW2,not so sure about Abbo though…….
Can’t think of any warbirds in Polish markings but will keep eye out for you…..
Do I detect a Polish theme for AbFayre 2005…;)
sounds good, will try too make it as well
not 100% certain yet but may also be there…..if so,will be wearing black flight-suit with Oxfordshire Aviation Group badge, look out for me,would be nice to put some faces to these names
