Doing it as we speak!
That’s absolutely great news! I just can’t wait. 😀 😀 😀
Great work on this years Legends DVD by the way, i watched a little more today… just can’t get enough of it! I really like the title screens with the paint brushing effect – nice.
A very sad loss to the community. I’ve read many of his truely superb books about the USAAF during the second world war. ‘The Mighty Eighth’ is a bible to those wishing to research the 8thAF and the information available astounding. A great man… Rest in peace.
I got mine yesterday morning from play.com ordered on the monday. It’s another suberb production, hats off to DD and sconnor! If you liked last year’s production you’ll really enjoy this years one. I especially liked the in-cockpit minicam of Pete Kynsey in the F7F and the interviews of the pilots. Also glad they captured some of the magic solo MH434 display by Ray Hanna on the saturday. He really give her some! It was a shame he didn’t perform it on the Sunday also, but i’m glad i got to see it first hand the day before. That display will stick with me forever… I was on the tank bank and witnessed the ‘arrival’ at near head height… hmmmmm….. groooowwwwwl!!! Superb, and a shame that it was probably his last season.
Back to the DVD, i also enjoyed the snippet of 10 years of duxford, great footage of the mosquito and black 6. I do hope these early shows will be put on DVD.
Another one gone, but never to be forgotten.
Maybe he is up there now with the rest of his crew and fallen comrades.
RIP Sir
I like it, Chris!
There needs to be a downloadable Speed Spitfire! 😉
Oh no – you’ve done it now! I’m gonna have to skin this baby for IL2 now… As if i haven’t got enough to do already!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
Thanks for your comments guys, most appreciated! I use Adobe Photoshop 6.0 and the processes i’m using invlove lots of layers, colour fills with different layer fill moes, opacities etc and overall colour balance and brightness adjustment. The magic wand tool is a god send. What you see is about three hours work so far. The picture was posted on this forum a while ago and i just loved it. It screamed at me to be ‘coloured in’ so i thought i’d give it a shot. I’ve a long way to go till i get to Snappers standard though 😉
I’m going to do a little more work on it soon, i agree with your points Bert and will try to address them.
Thanks again guys!

I found the 2004 one to be monotonous personally. I loved the veteran interviews, that was superb, but the rest just seemed to be repetitive. Not the fault of the filmers or editors – that’s what we ask for, but for me it was just too much. i cannot sit through it all.
1998 was the best.
I’d love to get my hands on this video and other pre-2001 legends productions. Where can i get them!?
I hope this is a better production that the one presently being screened on Discovery Wings, the 2002 edition. The commentator has a voice to send you to sleep.
If it’s anything like the 2004 production it will be fantastic. Just ordered mine from Play.com £11.99 delievered. I see amazon has a 5-7 day wait for dispatch.
ooohhh, gonna order right now!
Hi guys, thanks for the comments. Yes he did build the Spitfire and Hurricane as well. The Spitfire is mine, also perfect 1/6th scale based on MK912 that is now with Ed Russell and is most definately a flyer! The Hurricane, which is painted as the ex-TFC aircraft (now with HAC) in her 71sqn markings XR-T. She is also a flyer, though has lent her powerplant to the Spitfire for the forseeable future.
I’ve got stacks of photos of all three models if you’d like to see them?
I hope you are not one of the people who complains about the traffic problems at Duxford. I’m 58 now and I still get up at 5 AM for a Duxford show, on the road for 6 and arrive just after 8. As far as I am concerned an early start is just part of the airshow day.
Here here! For me it adds to the experience. When i was a young boy, i knew it was airshow day because dad would wake me up when the birds were singing and we’d pack everything in the car and set of into the early morning mist! 😀

I have an update. My website should be back online this week. The problem was bandwidth. Our friends at web-wings had bought what they thought was an unlimited account, but this has proven not to be the case. Unfortunately DUEL of EAGLES tipped it off balance and i have to remove all my videos from my server. I will therefore be in the future uploading all my videos exclusively at Netwings. I therefore ask you all to be patient please whilst i get everything sorted and transfered. I hope everything will be back to normal by the end of this week.
Thanks again guys!
That’s great news. I look forward to seeing Red-7 and the breighton buchon attacking DX for Legends 2007!
