I wonder if “rescued” means “stolen”….
Shack Engineers Panel Here
Looks lightning to me!
I think it’s XD434
It’s a Vampire, it’s disassembled at the moment and in the process of being restored. She’s complete except the Engine (is it a gnome or a goblin in a vamp?). Can’t remember the serial off the top of my head.
For sure, i’ll get some of the Whirlwind too! I did get one as it was being moved inside, but it didn’t come out too well unfortunately.

Loving the third one there Tim, one of the best pics i’ve seen! I like the shadow on the field below! I assume it’s the A15 with traffic stopped below as she lands at Waddo?
What about the Shack?
The Shack Fuselage was sealed up for the winter months, I intend to go back once the Museum is open for visitors and have a better look around. I’ll take some more pics and post them here if people are interested.

Thanks for sharing your collection with us! Good to see colour shots of all 3 V’s in white!
Please feel free to post more if you have them!!!
Apologies for the slight creep Cees, but this was in my local rag yesterday!

What about les bywaters canberra site or has this gone?
It was Les Bywaters wish that his site be continued and maintained in his memory. A well known forum member and aviation enthusiast has taken over the running of the site.
A couple from Sqn Archives to share with you. Crown copyright for the both.

Ah, a great thread thread!
One I took for the late Les Bywaters last year.

Seeing that collection of 20 or so Vulcans together would have been something!! I don’t suppose anyone has photos in their collection?
