HF Aerial?
Post #30, Is it the headlight from a Triumph Spitfire?
On second thoughts, it looks more like an early nissan Z car, ZX280 perhaps?
lol
MLG swivel arm?
Glad to hear she’s staying in her all metal finish, It’s by far my favorite lightning scheme! Not that there’s anything with the two fine examples you have at Brunty Andy!!
Only another year or so to go! Good luck to you! Can I assk what colour scheme you are going to apply or is that staying under wraps for now? is there any chance she’ll be able to stretch her legs down the nearby taxiway at Gatwick once she’s completed or is she not to move?
Agree with what you say about the strange angles flattering lightnings, they just look like they were built right IMHO. I know from reading up on your site and reading the threads that 320psi posts that they are absolute dogs to work on, but as they say, nothing worth doing is ever easy!
Tough one this, so many types to choose from! Without trying to echo previous comments, (as I’d like to see most of the aforementioned Aircraft take to the skies again!) for me, just to be a little bit different, The Spruce Goose or that rather large jet powered boat/seaplane the Russians built to transport trppos/equipment. Can’t remember the name of the thing thoug, I’m sure someone far wiser than me can help out!
Your lady is looking rather nice mjr, how far off completion/runnung are you and your team?
The F731 in one of the photos is from Marham so I’d say that would be likely.
It is indeed Fersfield mate, well spotted! As for 8th AF stuff, not a particular fan, just like planes and airfields in general!
Welcome home by the way!
Apologies for the slight thread creep, but I heard a Hatfield story this week which Made me laugh, so I thought I’d share it with you. I had the honour to meet a pilot this week, who upon leaving the RAF a good few years ago, applied for a job at Hatfield. Prior to this he had been on a test pilots exchange tour with the USAF at Edwards AFB Stateside, where he had worked with NASA on the development of winglets. When he left the RAF he asked what he could and couldn’t talk to any prospective employers about, they said hs pilots notes he could use, but that was it, no references to any documents etc.
So when BAe Hatfield asked him what he’d been working on recently he mentioned winglets to see if they’d be interested,
“No sonny, we build wings right in the first place!” came the reply.
Best of luck with the move guys, hope the weather is kind to you. Looking forward to seeing the photos. Wonder how may cars will echo to the sound of “Daddy, what’s that?”………………
“Well son, that is a Lightning jet fighter and it protected you before you were even born……………….”
Second photo is Wendling, Norfolk ! Keith.
Correct Keith! Well done!
A happy Sunday afternoon to you all, a couple from me, don’t think they’ve been posted before, but apologies of they have!

Post 363 is RAF graveley in Cambridgeshire.
Outstanding effort everyone! I posted the photo because I liked it and though I’d share it with the forum. I was curious about the Airfield below the 4 ship. Now, thanks to some far keener eyes than mine, you have provided me with the name of the Airfield, a rough date, the serials of the 4 aircraft involved, and even the approximate time of day!! Well done to all, I tip my hat in your direction!
I have a few more that I will either post here or on the similar thread that has recently been resurected.
