Ah, have just thought of another one…

    The Adventures of Tintin?

“Blistering Barnacles!” as the Captain would say!

It has already been mentioned that they have ordered it, but First Choice are set to be the launch customer for the 787 in Europe! 😀

When I was working at LGW for First Choice Airways, FlyJet use to occupy the same check-in Zone as FCA. As far as I can remember, there was not one time when I notice that a flight actually left on time, they weren’t the best airline to work for because they were constantly delayed (sometimes over 4 hours!). Although I have never flown with them, your friend is going to have a difficult time onboard if passengers are angry about any delays…so just advise him/her to be nice and polite!

To be honest I think that’s rubbish! To claim that BA won’t order the 380 because Virgin already have is nonsense, BA will order the aircraft that best suits their needs, regardless of what Virgin have. Both airlines operate the 747-400.

Yes, both airlines do operate the 747-400, but at the time there was little else to choose from, remember Virgin first started off with the 747-200! I am sure that once the A380 has commenced revenue service with Virgin, there will be a decision made to get rid of the 747’s, and focus on using the A380 and A340’s!

I think you’ll find at Virgin Atlantic RB is not involved in the day to day running of the airline. Sure, he comes on TV and announces the orders and does the PR, but that’s just because he makes good TV!

I accept that RB does not have much to do with the day-to-day running of the airline, but as the founder and chairman I am sure he has the final say on things…if not then I would be very interested to know what the hell does he do, apart from make a lot of money from it!

I don’t think Virgin rashly decided to buy the A380 for the hell of it!

I did not suggest this, did I? Maybe you just interpretted it the wrong way, but I am sure alot of thought was probably put into the decision for ordering the A380, but it is still a hell of a risk for them and for Airbus itself! The overall point I was trying to get accross is that to say they would put various luxuries onboard, such as a sauna and a gym, is not only very ambitious, but could prove to be a mistake in the eyes of the customer (do they really want/need it?)

Well I am nowhere near to LBA, so can’t offer any personal input to the website, but I can offer some advice about your website in general, if you would like it. PM me if you are interested.

Oooo, this could turn out into the most heavily debated thread on this forum…lol. The gloves are off! 😀

Here is my two-pennyworth…I don’t think BA will go for the A380, primarily becuase of most of the reasons that have already been stated, but my own opinion is because of the fact that Virgin have ordered it. BA will want to maintain some sort of difference between themselves and Virgin, in order to keep the competitiveness between the two carriers, which doesn’t really help the customer though, when choosing who to fly with! Secondly, the A380 is brand new, it is not succeeding any other type of aircraft becuase it is the first of its kind. The 747 series have a very good reputation, and is loved by the airlines and the many people that travel on them (me included!).

Unlike Richard Branson, Willie Walsh is a much more rational thinking kinda person, and will critically evaluate every little detail before taking the final decision. This is in no way ment to rubbish RB’s style of management or flare, but what I am saying is that as soon as the Airbus announced the thought of a ‘super-jumo’, Virgin, started off by saying that they were going to put saunas, gyms, swimming pools, and even casinos onboard…!

It will be interesting to see how Virgin market the A380 when it does come into service? I have seen the recent advert on the tv, with the Wright Brothers, and thought it was superb…and their slogan ‘always pioneering’ just sums it all up really!

Well thanks for all the information, the information provided is very useful indeed…tbh, I was not at all suprised to see STN-DUB at the top of the list, but I just wanted to check to make sure, as I would look quite stupid if I was quoting in my presentation something that was factually untrue!

Thanks for the good luck, I am going to need it, as this presentation plays a significant part of my degree…aghhh!

THE A-TEAM……..and bring the PROPER CYLONS BACK IN BATTLESTAR GALACTICA…. 😉

lol. Did anyone see that programme on Channel 4 last week, where Justin Lee Collins tried to re-unite the cast members of The A-Team? God that had me in stiches…it was so good to see Mr T again, “I pity that fool!”. 😀

Have thought of some other shows I would like to see brought back, does anyone remember these…

    1. Space Precinct – was a Gerry Anderson (legend!) production, and I just loved it, but it only lasted for two seasons I think!

    2. Buck Rogers – 10 points to the first person that can name the robot pictured below…

    3. The X-Files – they use to be shown on BBC1 on a Saturday night at 9pm, and for me they were compulsive viewing, until Sky won the bid to show them…! I have recently bought the first two seasons on DVD, it is refreshing to revisit some of the classic episodes. Does anyone know what season ties in with the motion-picture film?
