…i would guess they would use one of the remote stands.
LOL.
Boarding an A380 on a remote stand…that would take some number of coaches…and if it is raining, I certainly wouldn’t like to be a passenger. 😀
Hot favourites are JFK and LAX.
Agreed. I would imagine that almost any of their destinations within the US would be a contender, but I personally think that Orlando would be a firm favourite for all the holidaymakers to MickeyMouseland.
Ok, sorry, forgot to mention I only have FS2002, any difference at all?
And for some reason I can’t seem to take the 747-400 off from Heathrow, even using the auto-pilot. I select the required altitude, and then put full throttle on once clearence is granted and the plane tries to take off but just stays sticking up in the air, but travels along the ground (if that makes any sense?)
Any help would be greatfully appreciated.
I can’t make it today as I have an exam (damn it!), and I stupidly signed up to give a presentation in the afternoon to a group of delegates at confrence about how good my Foundation Degree has been for me.
Does anyone know when it will be leaving? I heard a rumour that it is due to leave tommorrow morning, but I can’t find anything to confirm this. I personally think it will be better to see it take off than land, imho!
Hate to say it, but this advert was posted a while back…can’t remember when, but I only found out about it through this forum.
martin@flyalpha1.co.uk worked last time i coresponded with.
Just out of interest, when was that exactly?
Oh, God!
Not this again…….
Cue the usual suspects!
lol. it does provide some form of an update, ok it cannot be offically verified at the moment, but at least it is not another ‘alpha-one bashing’ thread, although on reflection of some of the comments posted I am beginnig to think otherwise…
Personally, I wish Martin every success with whatever he attempts to do for a living…it takes huge courage and commitment to want to go into business for yourself, let alone start your own airline!
Did anyone else notice the very small article in this months Airliner World that Skycommuter (the airline that took on the Oxford-Cambridge route, has stopped flying as well because sales where not as high as had been expected!)…I find it quite comical that they even decided to take on the route once Alpha One decided to pull out of it, as it just goes to prove that Martin made the right decision in the first place! 😀
Rather than offering the IOM-BFS route, and going into competition with other airlines, could they not look to take over the IOM-EDI route that was once offered by Alpha One, now that they are dead-in-the-water, as I am sure that would be a much better option…imho.
I want to know why Q has been left out
If you remember, Q (aka Desmond Llewelyn) left in The World Is Not Enough, so it would have to be R that appears in the new film (currently played by John Cleese! 😀 )

Hmm…..bland imho, could have done with a splash of blue i think!
Yeah, I agree it is quite bland…it just is not very Virgin like, apart from it having the infamous word on the tail! I think they should of coloured all of it in blue, had the tail in red and the virgin wording in white – oh, and a couple of stars well across the fuselage, something like the one below!
Thanks chaps… however TED? Not sure!
Don’t worry too much, TED is just the low-cost arm of United. I haven’t flown with either of em, so can’t tell you what they are like – sorry! Hope your friend has a nice time anyway.
Ah that is better, I can see em now…hehe
WOW! That Continental looks amazing. Keep up the good work.
Thought I post this from Travelmole, which I recieved this morning.
Flywho aims for July flights to Florida
Start-up carrier Flywho has set a date in July for its first flights from Birmingham to Florida.
The airline, which has had a number of false starts since outlining its plans two years ago, aims to run a weekly service to St Petersburg-Clearwater from July 27, with Orlando Sandford starting on July 8.
Flywho’s launch is being supported by a month-long sales blitz to more than 200 agents in the Midlands by the Florida west coast destination’s convention and visitors bureau.
Spokesman Geoff Radcliffe said: “We are extremely excited that Flywho has chosen St Petersburg/Clearwater as a destination and it underlines the popularity of our area to the UK market. Last year we welcomed over 600,000 UK visitors. It also follows the successful trend of developing flights from regional airports.”
Flywho plans a two-class ‘super economy’ service to Florida including flights to Orlando Sanford. Lead-in return prices quoted on its website start at £449.
Under its previous guise as FlyBlu, the long haul, long cost airline originally planned to start serving Florida in summer 2004 but plans were thwarted when a financial backer pulled out. Attempts to get the service off the ground last summer also came to nothing.
Report by Phil Davies
Don’t know what you think, but I think people are going to be sick of FlyWho even before they have got off the ground because they are not providing any useful updated information. If it had said that there had been a huge demand in bookings, then I could understand it, but they are just recycling the same old hype that has already been stated.
Come on guys at FlyWho at least give us something new to read, please!
Cheers Airscan! 😀
Yes, G-OOAH does still have a premium section, though i don’t know how it’s premium, the only difference I could see was that the seats were a different colour!
I have not really understood FCA’s premium service on their short-hual routes, and I even used to work at LGW for the ground handling company that deals with them! Can you remember the name of the person that checked you in at all – long shot, I know but I might know them?
As far as I can remember there is no considerable difference really, not even a bit more seat pitch! Although you would of got to check-in on the premimum desks (1&2 – with the carpet!) and you would of had a complimentary drink on departure, recieved your meals first and dedicated cabin crew…I think!
I would love to comment on your shots, but for some reason I can’t see em…? Any explainations/solutions?
