If Airbus are accusing Boeing of using composites to make a fuselauge due to safety reasons, then why are they making the wings of the A350 out of em? Surley if they feel so strongly that it is a mistake for Boeing to use them, they would consider using an alternative method…

Having said this, this debate between the two manufactuers could be interesting to watch over, as it may lead to some airlines reconsidering and thus declining their orders?

Can see Turkey been a big growth market in the future, particularly if it joins the EU, the likes of Istanbul would be popular, and i’m sure we’d see the likes of Jet2, FlyGlobespan offering Antalya, Dalaman etc etc.

Good idea, but that would put tremendous pressure on the charter airlines such as First Choice and Monarch that fly reguarly to DLM, BJV…etc.

Thanks N Darby, you saved me the time and effort of putting the same thread up here…lol.

I too am interested in purchasing a suitable camera, based on my photos from the previous thread…

Am I right to presume from the comments that the EOS 350D is the best camera to go for?

I would be interested to know what anyone else uses?

    Thanks in advance.

Has any one got any pics of Globespan, especially interiors.

    Has anyone flown with ’em?

What is this airline like compared to other charter airlines like First Choice, Monarch, both of which also offer services to SFB.

    747 all the way!

I recently flew to MCO on a BA 777, and although the cattle class ‘economy’ seat stated 32″ seat pitch, it felt like 29″.

Compared to flying with Virgin on a 747 to SFO about two years ago, their lowest economy seat was awesome, lots of room!

i.e. her surname is Williams and it is spelt Willaims on the confirmation. Do you t hink I should call up and pay the £45 name change fee?

    Mark

    Mark,

I worked as a check-in agent for 6 months last year at LGW, and we were always told that as long as the name is within 1 letter then it should be ok. In your case you have simply got your ‘a’ and ‘i’ mixed-up so I honestly think you should be ok. However, being Ryanair, they may well make you change it just so that they can get the money out of you… so like most of the others have also said, take a chance and if they say you need to change it on the day, then you will have to change it! 😀

Am I mistaken in thinking that Richard Branson was a shareholder in Independence Air. I believe that he was waiting for them to cease trading so that he can bring out Virgin America…?

Sorry, can’t find the source I read about it, if it is true!

Okay, but you say “in the bus stop”. I don’t know the bus stop, it is just that if you were inside it, it might have a glass or perspex roof or sides, and these would probably affect the focusing system on your camera. Some auto focussing systems cannot see through solid objects, no matter how transparent they are.

    Hi, sorry I haven’t replied for a while…

Basically, it was a average bus shelter with a roof, I stood infront of it to take the pictures…and I used my LCD screen on the back of my camera to gauge when to take the photo because I do not have a viewfinder…

I have recently got a part-time job in Jessops, photo shop, so I may well look to get a better camera in the Sale…? Any recommendations at all?

In my opinion, I can’t see how the low-cost operators would be able to offer low-fares on long-haul routes. The main reason they are able to reduce their operating costs is to have a single type of aircraft within their fleet (usually the 737-800 or A320), which are not suitable for long haul travel…which means that the low-cost operators would have to introduce bigger and better aircraft, and this will cost alot of money and will result in a siginificant rise in fares.

As for the big carriers (i.e BA/Virgin), I think it will be quite a while before we see any significant changes…unless there was to be a merger between rival airlines to form ‘super-airlines’. Either that or the governments may well begin to regulate the industry again…

Personally for me, the next big thing I am eagly looking forward to, besides the maiden flight of the A380, is to see whether a new supersonic aircraft can be designed and built to replace Concorde…it is about time we got something on the drawing boards!

PLEASE NOTE: These are my own opinions, which I am entitled to have, so please do not slag me off for them – thanks!

Hi Bmused55, just to say many thanks for the First Choice image, it is exquisite… I hope that ‘Santa’ brings you something as nice…lol!

And just one for everyone, I found this design of Concorde in the Virgin Atlantic livery on the internet. I quite like it, but it is a shame it will never happen. There are more liveries avaliable, just check out the site: http://www.aerosite.net

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all…

OK, what kind of idea. Technical, economical, organisational? Deathline?

Anything that has the potential of making a profitable business really, so it could be any of those categories…?

    50/50? 😉 😀

Well, if I was to win, then the money has to be used for further research or development of the business idea…so it depends on how good the idea is as to whether we can work together on it…?
