I really like the livery and the interior, it adds a bit flare and makes them stand out!

Is it me or the cabin crew wearing a rugby shirt style uniform? If it is, the designer needs to be shot – yuck, its horrible!

OK, I have watched this thing now on and off as it keeps popping up, let me see if I have this cronology correct:
Young fellow wants to set up an “airline” but he basically has an idea for an air taxi operation on a tiny scale.
He initially gets good response, lots of encouragement, etc. He manages to sort some investment, and all looks like he may actually get this off the ground, and in that incredibly over-regulated environment known as UK airspace, that is a BIG achievement! so not one to be minimized.
He has to change his plans enroute numerous times, and it appears that with no AOC he must essentially wet lease to make it happen. No suprise there, it is done every day. This he arranges, and eventually he manages to get a couple flights done, and it’s now a day by day, see what happens kind of operation. He has attracted the interest of the media, and they have hyped it to a degree, he has of course risen to this, perhaps to his detriment. And this little venture now appears to be hanging on a thread, maybe it will work, maybe not. Is that basically the timeline of events to date?
So my question, and it is to the majority of those who appear to spend all day every day tracking this venture, … why??? just what is upsetting you all so much here? have you all pre-purchased tickets in hopes of flying in the Navaho, or whatever he is sub chartering now? do you want to get good airside pictures? why do you CARE????
Because guess what, this is just one more tiny example of a guy trying to be involved in aviation.
Maybe it is because there is so little in the way of general aviation in the UK, that you see this as a massive venture, but it is not, if he was doing this in Canada, no one would even bat an eye, it would be a case of, ” oh look, he is trying to do trips in a Navaho, big deal, oh well maybe he will pick up a few”
Really, I am just amazed at the rage exibited on this board towards what is a complete non event.
Me, I don’t care, I have 0 involvement in such things, I have flown in the large aircraft contract environment for many years, (B747) and I fly with guys all the time that “want” to start an airline, do they, well no, almost never, but it is a hot topic, and pilots traditionally make lousy managers.
Now this fellow is not really a pilot, but he just skipped a few steps and went straight to the wants an airline stage.
If he really has a comm, and maybe a frozen ATPL, he is probably best to try for an entry level jet job, they are in abundance in the UK, and he can see how the big boys really screw up an airline. Then when he has watched from the inside for a number of years, maybe he would realise that it is not really worth the effort anyway!
But please, all you guys that are hanging on every word, and action of this tiny venture, you are only making yourselves look foolish. because the attention you are giving to this far outweighs the actual operation.
But carry on, and I will catch up again in a month or so, and note again that because the “website” has not been updated it has thrown you all into an apoplectic rage!
Really, boys there is better things to rant about, oh and keep taking pictures.Sometimes I see myself! 🙂

Couldn’t have said it better myself if I tried, but canadair you have hit the nail on the head here… 😀

Also it appears that My Travel are set to concentrate more on medium/long haul routes.

I am not suprised at all…its because of the competition from the low-cost carriers.

I heard a rumour that First Choice Airways were going to reduce their European routes served by lo-co’s because they just can’t compete! But it still means they will continue to fly to Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, and the Canary Islands! 😀

Have you worked out the present day price for the fares you quote, adjusted for inflation?

No I have not worked out the present day price, all I wanted to know was if there would be market to offer such fares as Laker did in the 70/80’s, and if not, why?

There are two I would recommend…

    AIRLINE 6 and AIRLINE TYCOON.

I had AIRLINE 5, and was very impressed with it…!

For more info, I recommend you check this site out:

Who voted for this guy? Is this a common mindset in certain places, or does he just have more than a few screws loose in that obviously less-than-perfect head of his?

As he is the President of Iran, I can only presume that the people of Iran voted for him…

I am no physchologist, but he is probably doing it in order to infuriate the Coalition and the rest of the United Nations Security Council members, until the pull out from Iraq is complete…which I believe could be on the cards soon (about bloody time too!).

…or you may be able to purchase the name and start again.

How much would a past name cost though, are we talking £000’s or millions…?

The name I would like to ressurect would be EUJet 😮

I felt that that airline had real potential, and also proved that there was a market from Kent International (Manston, MSE)…

If I was able to buy the name and re-brand it, I would use an Airbus A320-200, instead of the Fokker’s that were used before they went bust!

Apologies to James (Manston_Airport) as I know how much you love the Fokker’s…! 😉

…as san juan is a has a major botoc centre, same as cambridge, so a link to there would be good!

When you say Cambridge, do you mean UK…?

Surely they can’t consider operating out of Cambridge, maybe better to do San Juan to Stansted, and then operate a deal with rail and/or bus company to Cambridge…?

    Nice photos…love the FCA one!

One question though…in the background of at least two of your photos, there is a plane with APPLE VACATIONS on it…does anyone know anything about this airline/company, as I have never seen or heard about them before now…?

Which came up with the idea first – EOS or MaxJet?

Either way, I think that both airlines will be interesting to watch in the near future, as it will be interesting to see who decides to expand their route network to cover other important destinations rather than just focusing on New York…

Does anyone have any ideas as to other suitable destinations that they could fly too?

Well unlike some…I am remaining optermistic about this, as always! 😀

As I have said in previous posts and now closed threads on this subject, I think that Martin is great for what he has achieved so far…congrats to him.

It does just go to show that setting up your own airline is no easy task, and that you have got to be prepared for every eventuality… Granted he may have rather irritated a few people with constant delays, however, I am confident he is doing whatever is necessary to get things up and running!

I am sure he will do it, I know it…just a matter of when, which is alot more than what I can say for those that have and continue to dought him! 😡

Id leave it for the Sky Marshall to deal with…

Seems to be most sensible option…they are trained to deal with situations such as these, so I personally wouldn’t volunteer to overthrow any would-be hijackers…you just have to admit it, if it is your time to die…your time is up, simple as!

Please note, this is my own personal opinion, I do not wish it to influence anyone else’s thinking…but personally, I don’t really want to have to talk about this subject again as it is not a very nice subject to talk about over a forum…
