Sadly that’s the way things are handled in the industry Dantheman77…simply because it is seen to be dealt with easier that way, and the less that the customers/passengers know about what’s going on, the better.

Frankly I think its an easy cop-out for airlines to say this…if something is wrong, they should be forced to tell the customers exactly what is wrong and why. That way you (as the airline) have a chance, albeit a slim one, of at least retaining the customers respect for being as honest and truthful as possible, although its doubtful whether or not you will still retain their custom in the future.

There were incidences where a man was comming from sexstore and his face being fully regocnizable or a man sitting in his own homeyard and mastur…well..orhm..indulging himself:dev2:

Why the hell would someone be indulging himself in the homeyard, surely that kind of thing should be done inside and in private rather than outside?

Some excellent shots there A330Crazy…liking the bird on the SQ A380 one!:)

Just out of interest, the aircraft in the background of the CX Cargo 744, is it an LH 747 by any chance?

By the way, I’m an LHR local myself too, so if your ever heading up to the airport for a photo/spotting session, feel free to get in touch via PM and I’ll let you know if I am free or not, maybe we can meet up.

Cracking pics there, thanks for sharing.

I too love the CO shot, and working with down here at LHR, we do get that particular aircraft down here quite a bit too, and the 777 that has the same livery, but obviously you guys don’t get to see that one up at MAN. The only thing that annoys me about it though is the fact that the CO logo at the front is in black and not blue as per the original colours…kind of spoils it in my opinon!:)

Great shots as per normal Rob, and about time too…a photo of the Continental 752 from you!:D:diablo:

Don’t know about you, but I think the Star Alliance logo/sticker thing really spoils the look of their livery now (really shows the dirtiness of the fuselage!), but I suppose they’ve only just moved over from SkyTeam at end of October 09 so they’ve got to wait before they can get the actual clear transfers stuck on!

Great shots Tony, thanks for sharing.
Always nice to see Manston in use…I assume you are aware of the EDI-MSE-EDI flights on offer from FlyBe?:)

Well I’ve been looking in all the usual places I know of on the web Andy, but I haven’t as yet found any concise reason as to why they have actually stopped services, besides all the usual “told you so” and general negative banter and slurs that MH seems to receive from particular people? (Perhaps you can PM me with a link if you have one?!)

I seriously don’t get some people on this forum, what is it about this guy that certain people seem to hold a constant grudge against him?

Amazing how you can all rush to discredit him when we don’t even know the full reasons as to why they [Varsity] have stopped services yet?:( 😡

I’ve had a pleasure of meeting Captain Sullenberger in person, and can say he is one of the nicest people I have ever met, and an incredibley brave person for what he did on that day.

Many congratulations and best wishes for your retirement Sully!:)

    Varsity Express suspends service?

Oh dear, not such good news…

Varsity Express regrettably announce as of 3 o’clock today March 8th 2010 the suspension of scheduled services on their Oxford to Edinburgh route.

The reason for this suspension is due to operational issues between Varsity Air Services Ltd and the airline and AOC holder who have been contracted to operate the Jetstream 31 type on our behalf and that was being used on the route. All further ticket sales have been suspended until further notice. All passengers effected by the suspension of service either have been or are currently being informed of the situation.

The policy of Varsity Air Services Ltd has always been to protect the interests of its passengers at all times and therefore the company from the onset of ticket sales entered into a voluntary passenger revenue protection scheme involving an Escrow agent account. All passenger revenue relating to flights not completed is protected by this scheme independently and all money relating to un-flown revenue can be refunded in full if necessary.

The board of Varsity Air Services Ltd are in current negotiation with potential aircraft operators and AOC holders who could provide the operational capability required to allow the resumption of services, on what has already proved to be a very popular, viable and sustainable route. The board are hopeful that Varsity Air Services Ltd will be able to resume full operational services in the very near future. For further information contact the Varsity call centre on 0871 644 0450.

Only last night did Varsity Express state on their Facebook page that they have “over 500 advanced bookings” and that with “135 people carried last week, Varsity is literally off to a flying start!”, I wonder what has happened, but please lets not speculate or spread malicious rumours about the possible causes of this unfortunate set-back until more details are released, but I thought I would post it up to let people know.

Well that might have something to do with the fact that I work in the industry (ok, not as cabin crew, but still!) and actually know how these people actually feel rather than thinking about the impact it may have on my next trip?

…this is slightly more challenging than asking “chicken or beef”.

And you call me naive for what I said, and then come out with a comment like that?

Well I’m sorry if my comment caused any offence, but that said my job drains me mentally each day, and if my boss came up to me next week and said we’re changing your contract soon so we now expect you to do the same job and to the same standard as before but we’re going to pay you less and/or take away certain privileages, I think anyone, myself included, would rightly be annoyed.

And if the management fail to listen to their staffs grievences and come to an agreeable solution, they have no other option but to go on strike.

Do you think they go on strike for the fun of it or to purposefully cause disruption to the travelling public?

If we were to value salaries in conjuction with the importance of the job…

Now that is a very good point indeed, and I do sometimes wish that this was the case as there are people that do some amazing and life-threating jobs that help to protect us each and every day and yet they get paid far less than some jobs.

But is your job as demanding or as important as cabin crew, do your daily actions and responsibilities affect the lives of every person you come into contact with?
