Thanks for this EGPH, I did set one up before but didn’t do anything with it and forgot all about it, so I have started off a fresh…

    JMD AIRLINES

    Base: Kent International (Manston) Airport

    Fleet/Routes: x1 B737-800 (MSE-PIK); x1 ATR 42-300 (MSE-JER)

Plans: To develop a network of both domestic and international routes to/from Kent International (Manston).

EDIT: Since originally posting this, I’ve now added another ATR 42-300, flying between Manston (MSE) and Newcastle (NCL).

Wow Rob, those are totally amazing shots!

The Aurigny one has to be my personal favourite; I don’t know what it is about that airline or their aircraft/livery, but I just really like it…I really should look to fly on them one day!:)

Anyways, thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!

Did you ever see the photograph of the overweight passenger on an American Airlines flight?

    http://assets.nydailynews.com/img/2009/12/04/alg_overweight_passenger.jpg

I don’t think its unreasonable for people to be charged for an extra seat due to their weight…at the end of the day if they pose a risk to other passengers and their safety whilst onboard (as that pax clearly does!), they should be made to pay for two seats…either that or find an alternative mode of transport that doesnt charge them!

Does make me wonder what the guy sat next to him is/was thinking at the time…

    Caption competition anyone.:D:diablo:

Frequency may be a driver in such a decision, but aircraft type is unlikely to play an influencing role, especially if someone can travel from an Airport which is 20 mins from home rather than 45 mins.

I agree with you rdc1000, for most business people it would be considered as an advantage to fly from Oxford as it would reduce the time spent travelling, and the associated hassle/stress of travelling to/from somewhere like LHR. And as long as the aircraft is carefully maintained, the type of aircraft shouldn’t really be a factor that is considered when choosing who you fly with.

Frankly, I think its quite pitifull how some of your are already gunning for them.
It is a new airline, we are aviation fans. Should this not be a more positive thing?

I totally agree Bmused55, its such a shame that some people are/can/will never be happy…they’re only jealous because they haven’t got the ambition and enthusiasm to do something like him!

I think this new venture has a lot more potential compared to previous projects, and I wish him/Varsity the best of luck!:)

    EClear in administration order!

I suppose this should be seen as good news to come out of this unfortunate saga, however, I suppose it will not do anything to help all those people that have lost their jobs and/or had flights and holidays booked through the Globespan group.

    From TravelMole:

    EClear in administration order!

An order for the administration of payment processing firm EClear was made by the High Court today.

The move by Mr Justice Vos followed the failure of EClear to submit evidence of funds of £35 million on Friday related to the collapse of Scottish operator Globespan.

    BDO has been appointed administrator.

PricewaterhouseCoopers administrator for Globespan Bruce Cartwright said: “Over the last month we have sought financial reassurance from EClear and are disappointed that the funds are no longer there.

“We will now work closely with BDO to maximise the situation for Globespan creditors under exceptional circumstances.

“Those who bought services on credit card or visa debit, that have not been supplied, will continue to be protected by consumer card legislation and should contact their credit card issuer.”

apparently the one on the left is or contains a fire exit :S

    LMAO; that made me chuckle!:D

The Script are a great band, saw them live at Camden Roundhouse last year.

The band released their debut album, The Script, on the 11 August 2008. Following the success of “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved”, the album entered the UK Album Chart at number one with sales of 54,520 copies[11] where it stayed for two weeks. The album spent eight weeks in the top ten and was the twelfth best selling album in the UK of 2008

I surprised no American pax were interviewed. Their statements would probably have been something like:

“They told us we were running out of fuel. We all thought we were going to die.”

Seems like the Australian’s beat them too it…

“I was on UA863 and we were told we had to land at Brisbane because we were low on fuel,” Vicki Johnson said.

“We were due in at Sydney at 8.10 in the morning and never arrived until midday.”

    “Never” arrived….it was only 4hrs late?!

Welcome Mostonian, and a great start to aviation photography!

Particularily like the shot of the Continental 757…very nice!:)

    What camera do you use?

Keep practising and posting up, you will always find people on here that are able and willing to give you advice to help you improve.

As for Manchester viewing, have you tried the multi-storey car park (think its Terminal 2, but might be wrong?!), go up to the top level and you get a great view over the apron from there. Also, another area thats good is the pub/hotel which is about a 10-15min walk from the terminals, you get a good view of planes arriving from here!

I scored 89…but can’t seem to copy the pic anyone know how to get the pic??tried “print screen” button on keyboard which does nowt….

    Tartan,

The way I solved this issue is to press the ‘print screen’ button, and then paste the image into Paintbrush (or similar program!), crop it down a bit to show just the game screen and then uploaded it to here as a JPEG, using the ‘Manage Attachments’ option.

Hope that helps, and hope you can post your score up as you will then take the lead!:)

Has anybody else flown to or from America and had a chance to experience the extra security? What were your opinions of it?

I havent flown to or from America recently, but working at LHR I have seen the impact of the enhanced security measures, and I can say that although they are much tighter than before and causing lengthy delays, the overall opinion is that they are welcomed by passengers.

That said, I still cannot understand why in this day and age we still have some people (and they are a minority!) that still think its ok to make fun of security and answer questions with supposedly ‘joke’ comments about bags/packages, and then when the Old Bill get involve that they suddenly realise the error of their ways…
