    Just for you all…

Mod Edit: No live linking, thanks.

Anyone else got any favourite (and also most annoying!) TV adverts, please feel free to post up a link to a video so we can all share the joy and/or pain of watching them!

    Here’s one of my favourite:

    Mod Edit: See above.

I’ve even gone so far as downloading the backing music to this particular TV advert; incidentally the song used is called “Transient” by Pluxus.

    Enjoy!:D

    What aircraft do they use?

I think that DL may use one of their recently acquired Boeing 747-400s from Northwest on the flight, but don’t quote me on this.

Does anyone know if this true or not?

Also, I notice the flight is ATL-LAX-SYD…does that mean that the pax travelling from ATL will be made to get off the aircraft in LAX and then re-board along with all those pax that just fly the LAX-SYD sector?

Apologies to Steve for kind-of highjacking his thread, but its still roughly on the same subject!;)

The extra service to LAX from Sydney will commence on 6 August.

Despite the obvious increase in capacity, could this move also be seen as a response to Delta’s new (ATL-)LAX-SYD service which is due to commence on 3rd July?

“Upon landing the Governor exited the jet and travelled to his house.”

Once he’d landed safely, why did he just ‘go home’, was wherever he going not that important in the end or was he returning home from somewhere?!

And why wasn’t there a helicopter on standby so that he could of just gotten off his a/c and then run across the tarmac towards it shouting “Get to the chopper!”…:D:diablo::o

It’s a shame Mr Walsh doesn’t also mention the joys of a fresh paper cut every day from bag tags…

Ah yeah, they can be a real b*****d, and they’re damn painful too…I had one only the other day, in between my thumb and first finger. It drew blood and I could feel my pulse through it for the rest of the day!

Excellent, certainly made me chuckle, that’s made my day!

BA chief executive Willie Walsh…”Most holidaymakers have to settle for a fortnight on a sun-kissed beach, never knowing what it’s like to part of the glamourous, jet-set aviation industry, where everything is beautiful.

Despite the article just being a joke, I do just want to dispell the myth that working in the aviation industry is ‘glamourous’ and ‘everything is ‘beautiful’…couldn’t get more far from the truth even if it tried!:D

“But few experiences can compare to the thrill of putting tags on luggage while fat sweaty *******s scream at you about things that clearly aren’t your fault.”

Don’t knock the whole article, the above quote is quite accurate actually, its just not as ‘thrilling’ as it may suggest…lol.:)

I found this strange situation, two airliners on the same runway, one taking a turn-off, another one a very short distance behind it.

As has already been suggested, its just where two separate images have been put together to form one image and this is what causes these strange looks.

In fact, if you look at the image close enough, I think you’ll find that what you may think is two separate aircraft is in fact the same aircraft, so it had probably landed just before the satellite went over the area and by the time the satellite had passed over and taken the various images, it had just begun to taxi.

Yes, its been confirmed that the Captain passed away mid-flight but cause of death has not yet been confirmed, however, “natural causes” has been speculated as the reason.

The aircraft/flight (CO61 from Brussels, BRU, to Newark, EWR) has now landed; it was given priority landing status at EWR, but it was not at any risk whilst in-flight as there was a reserve Captain was onboard who was able to take over.

Sad news and my thoughts are with family and friends of the deceased Captain.:(

As a former Air Cadet myself, this is terrible news and my thoughts are with the families concerned.

From every AEF detail that I went on (most were from RAF Benson in fact, which makes this story even worse to contemplate!) I can assure everyone that all cadets had a briefing and were made to watch the mandatory safety video every single time before they could go.

I believe the chutes worn these days are Irvin 85s, could be wrong

Yes, this type of parachute rings a bell with me, although I left the Corps just over 4 years now so it may well of changed since this time.

Cadet Air Experience flying HAS indeed been suspended for the time being.

Whilst this is a disappointing outcome, its a somewhat unavoidable decision as to loose any young soul is bad enough, but three in the space of five months is tragic. I am sure other cadets that have not yet had the chance to experience the thrill of flying yet will be disappointed, but should support this decision in light of recent events.

Nice shots there Rob, always nice to see some EasyJet/Ryanair shots from you…:p (only joking mate!)

Aurigny ATR has to be the pick of the bunch for me, although that TCX A320 caught my eye too as I noticed the Jazeera Airways logo on the engine cowling, have they leased this particular aircraft from them?

Is this a new addition the bmi fleet…looking at the picture it still has a German registration on the back and a German flag on the tail; has it been leased from Lufthansa or something?

Wow- love the QATAR ones 🙂

    Me too, great shots!

Noticed that Qatar have followed Emirates in putting their name on the underbelly, how long has it been like that for?

Nice shots there Russ, thanks for sharing!:)

For some reason I really like the Titan livery, don’t know why though!?

Think it would look even better if they put blended-winglets on their 757s…

…how cool calm and collected Capt Sullenburger sounds in such a dire situation!!!

Think that comes down in part to the training (i.e what to do when all hell breaks loose!), doesnt it?

Anyways, I had the pleasure of checking in Mr Sullenburger and his wife a couple of days ago when he was flying out of LHR…a true gentleman and a legend in my opinion!:)

I like number 2, the tyres appear massive in the shot!

I even had to take a step back to view the pic for fear of being run-over…lol.:D

Truly great shots there, first one is fantastic…great comparison size-wise between the DHL and FedEx!

You say these were ‘taken with a simple pocket cam’, might I enquire as to what camera you used?

Just goes to prove that its not always necessary to have a big and/or expensive camera to take good photos, keep up the good work and keep on sharing!:)
