Have you thought of Madeira?
I had thought of Maderia, not too far away either. If you have any recommendations for things to see/do, besides spotting at the airport, please can you PM me.:)
I’d suggest Madeira as well.
Depending on budget…parts of the States are nice in the winter too. Aside from the cliche Florida, think about Arizona or Hawaii.
Funnily enough I went to Hawaii in July this year, and as much as I would like to go back, it is far to soon to go back and I only have a week off so I don’t think it would be enough time and its not worth travelling all that way just for a week, but thanks for the suggestion.

Damn, looks like Alitalia have scaled back their fleet a bit there!:D:p
(In case you didnt get it, it was a poor attempt at humour as I was referring to the green stripe along fuselage; it does look similar to the one seen on AZ’s a/c!)
Good stuff there though CloudWarrior, always nice to see something different now and then.:)
I quite like it actually…

Wow! Looks like that VS 744 certainly made a late rotation…must have been quite heavy, suppose it was going to MCO!
Just out of interest, seeing as you saw both a 744 and a 742 take off, is there any difference in the amount of noise that either of them makes?
Great stuff Huw, thanks for sharing.:)
Well now it appears that both have been suspended until the results of both the OfCom and BBC investigations are know.

It will no doubt be something that happens in the future, I suppose its just a case of ‘when’.
Nuclear-powered aircraft may sound like a concept from Thunderbirds, but they will be transporting millions of passengers around the world later this century
I believe I have mentioned this before in a previous thread a while back, but if we had something like Fireflash in operation today, a flight from London to New York would take under an hour (), which is a significant improvement on the length of flights nowadays, and will obviously help to keep the environmentalists happy because the aircraft will not be polluting the sky for as long as they do now!
When they do come round to it, all designers will need to do is to look at the spec of this a/c…and hey presto!:D
I have been to the Lake District, but a looong time ago when I was much younger…and it is one of the most beautiful places in the UK, and a great place for photography.
Two things to suggest you can do, go to Tarn Hows near Coniston. It is one of the most popular visitor attractions and a great place to walk (see pic below).
And another thing, but not sure if it runs in the winter, but why not take a trip on the Ravenglass railway.
Enjoy!

Some good quality stuff as per usual Mr Rice.
My favourite is actually non of the NW charters ()…but the VS 747 shot.;)
As for trying something artistic, I think its a great pic, so well done for trying, look forward to seeing some more!
Fantastic stuff as per usual Adam – keep up the good work.:)
Just curious about two things though…
1. Does Flybe operate an E195 on their LGW-NCL route or a Dash8 Q400? (If you can’t answer this, I am sure Deano will be able to…:D)
2. Also, do you know who owns/operates the all white Fokker50 you saw? I can see it has a Dutch registration on it, could it be Denim Air on a charter/ad-hoc flight at all?
I am not normally a nervous traveller and nothing terribly horrifying has ever happened to me whilst I have been in the air so far, however, I do have the occasional thought about ‘what if something does go wrong’ just before I board a plane, but then I tend to relax once I have seen the crew and watched the safety video.
Very nice!:D
Here at LHR, Continental have just started a third daily flight to EWR, and they use a 757-200 with winglets, so I get to see it everyday!
