Hi chaps,
To keep this thread in line with the initial subject (as I fear it could descend into general student banter otherwise!:)), I would always recommend Amazon for books as you can usually find they have a wider choice than most other retailers and they are cheapest for price and often offer a combination of offers if you buy more than one book at a time…(don’t forget you get free delivery on orders over £15!).
Dont bother trying to look in bookshops such as Waterstones, as they don’t stock specialist books on the subject because there is simply not the demand for it.
As a suggestion, another book I would recommend is this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Airline-Business-Rigas-Doganis/dp/0415346150/ref=pd_sim_b_4
Also, why not buy one/two copies of each book and agree a process whereby you all share them between each other…just a suggestion to help you reduce your costs?
Hope this helps, and good luck with your studies!
Just remember, you’ve got to study/work twice as hard as you party…!
Wow! That first CO 757 pic is stunning, so much so that I am using it as the picture for my PC’s desktop…hope you don’t mind?!:D
How I wish we had CO 757’s at LHR (we only have 767/777’s – which get a bit boring!), but I never get tired of seeing a 757 as I love the look of it with blended winglets!:)
Does anyone else find that they have a particular interest/favourite type of aircraft that they like the look of? If so, which one and why?
Think it will be an Airbus A320 because I remember seeing a photo posted on here not so long ago by another forum member.:)
As luck would have it, I just saw a feature on the news this morning to say that the AAIB is due to publish its report later today…
Nice stuff there Lance, got to admire that Continental 757 and KLM 737…;)

Hi aitchdoubleyou,
Firstly, welcome to the forum.
I have PM’d you in relation to your query, look forward to hearing from you soon.:)
Hmmm…. interesting. 😎
Indeed Grey…thanks for the info.
Some more disturbing news I have just learned, according to the Civil Aviation Authority, Zoom had approximatley 60,000 forward bookings, and there are as many as 4,500 UK passengers abroad that have been left stranded by the collapse.
To rub salt into the wounds, passengers who booked direct with the carrier now have to make alternative arrangements with other airlines at their own cost because the CAA’s ATOL scheme does not cover customers who book flights directly with airlines such as Zoom.
Any passengers with forward bookings who booked using a credit card are advised by the CAA to contact their credit card company about refunds.
Sad News – but it’s their own fault I guess.
Hopefully we’ll see them in the skies again one day…
Yes, very sad news indeed…:(
I somewhat doubt that we will see them fly again to be honest, how many other airlines have managed to come out of bankruptcy and begun to fly again…Eos, MaxJet, Silverjet, OASiS and many others have all stopped flying for the same or similar reasons and none have managed to resume flights so far. The only airline I know that has survived a bankruptcy is MK Airlines, but they are just a cargo airline, and have not re-commenced flying as far as I am aware.
Air Malta operate to Norwich?
Never seen or heard of that before, is that a regular service or is it just the Malta Bargains flights, since they no longer have BritishJet?
Nice pics by the way, always nice to see some from somewhere different for a change!:D
How do these losers get their hands on these lasers anyway?
You can easily buy them from most toy/gadget websites, as well as Amazon or even eBay! But knowing the youth of today, said person probably just nicked it from the classroom at school!
I personally think there should be strict rules put in place on the supply of these types of products, especially when you consider how damaging they can be, but also the additional consequences that can be caused when village idiots like the one in question considers it ‘fun/cool’ to shine it at aircraft!
What travel companies still use Monarch?
During the summer, I think Cosmos is one of (if not the biggest!) customers of Monarch, but not sure about the winter season.
Great shots Rob, but no pics of the Continental Airlines 757…:(
