…so on to my flight and a lot of confusion among the airport since we were told there was a 2 hour delay (told by ground Star) because of a technical problems but they wernt told what,…
Always nice to see the company I work mentioned in someone’s post – thanks Flying-forever!
Unfortunatley, not being told what the cause of technical problems is usually the norm with most airlines…why do passengers need to know exactly what is wrong with the a/c? As long as its fixed and safe to fly that is all that should matter in my opinion.
Its also true that we do not get told what the problem is with the a/c, unless it is a really big problem and likely to be a loooong delay or worse (i.e HOTAC).
PLEASE could someone advise me on the best way of looking/getting an airline job?
What website or recruitment agency is the best bet? There is so much out there and one never knows what is good and what is better left alone.
Any comment and advice will be most appreciated.Keep well and happy New Year to all, Lloyd
Hi lljanks,
I always find http://www.aviationjobsearch.com to be the best place when looking for aviation related jobs. The only downside is that any applications that ask for your CV, will only accept your CV in Rich Text Format (RTF), and you do not always hear from anyone for all the positions you have applied for.
You could also try Job Centre Plus, and just put in ‘airport’ or ‘airline’ as a keyword search and see what it comes up with.
Good luck in your job-hunting.
Could this be a maintenance issue on OzJet’s behalf, or perhaps a sign that the lifecycle of their 737-200’s are coming to an end…?
Some very nice photos indeed.
My personal favourites have to be the EK 777 and Spanair MD-80.
Well done, and keep up the good work.
Here’s mine…
Ah, wondered how long it would be before you had a few posted on here!:D
Seeing as I gave Josh a lift to LGW today, it would only seem fair for me to show a few shots with my new Fujifilm S5700, which is a much better camera to my previous one, however, please bear in mind this camera is not as good as a DSLR, so quality is not great, and as it was also my first attempt at aviation photography with this new camera as well, I am rather pleased with results!
Advice and comments welcome on how I can improve would be most appreciated.:)

Where are you today? You better not be at work, you working tommorrow?
Sorry, but I am at work today! Quietest I have ever seen an airport!:D
Will have to chat on MSN to you some other time. I need to arrange a date when we can meet up at LGW, as I got my new camera today!:D
I saw it take-off from LGW yesterday, it actually looked quite nice!:D
The short answer to your question is no, and I suspect the truth is not very many.
1L.
Thanks OneLeft, I was thought that this would be the case, however, I do remember reading a book about EasyJet, and how they got into trouble over its advertising because it was selling less than 10% of its seats at the price that it quoted on the advert…
I wish to ask a question that is related to low-cost airlines, so instead of posting another thread, I hope people dont mind me asking it here…
My question is… I know it is usually a closely guarded secret as to how many seats are sold at the ‘lowest fare’, but are there any set rules on the number of seats that LCC’s have to sell at their lowest price, and if so, how is this expressed (as a % or just a specific no. of available seats?)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I bet Ryanair will look into the outcome of this very closely.
I wouldnt be suprised if they did force passengers to pay by card, and then they would probably even charge an additional fee for using a debit card, and even more for a credit card!:D:diablo:
Is the service to SEA going to be a non-stop service, or will it go via MSP/DTW?
Is this problem purely for MaxJet, or could other airlines such as Eos and/or Silverjet face difficulties in the not too distant future?
Would it not be worth MaxJet’s chances to launch a new route to try and revive their chances of success, especially as they have already dropped Washington due to poor load factors…?
As we have seen, Silverjet has decided against a second route to the US in favour of Dubai, perhaps Maxjet should look elsewhere other than US-UK routes?!
Hi Rab,
They often say that people are born with specific talents, it is clear your sons were blessed with the ability to take fantastic photographs!
Tell them to keep up with the good work!
My favoruite shot has to be the Trislander. Although it is all white, it is fabulous aircraft!
Just out of interest though, I am hopefully getting the Fujifilm s5700 this Christmas, which I know is quite similar to the one your sons have. I would like to know what settings that they use on their camera, as I am also a beginner at photography and would like to be able to develop a talent such as theirs!
Perhaps they could give me lessons…?!:D
Strange, as the flight to JNB tonight is still showing on the departure screens at LGW today!
EDIT: Just asked a chap from BAA, and he has confirmed it is not operating tonight!(:o)
