Not directly in aircraft.
You forget that there was this…:p:rolleyes:
Although it would be great to be able to travel from London to New York in 45mins (as Fireflash would be able to do if real!), the combined environmental and health risks involved in powering an aircraft by nuclear power would far out-way the benefits wouldnt it? And it would also give the nuclear hippies something to moan about, like they do with the Navy’s Trident submarines!:D
On reflection of seeing the photos in the previous post, I must say that it is not too bad…but I still prefer the other one!:D
It’s a niche market that has a proven track record of failure…
I agree. Because you are dedicating yourself to a very selective niche market, of course you are going to experience problems at some point…the thing they need to do is to offer services to more destinations other than US to UK and vice-versa!
I did hear a rumor a couple of weeks ago that Silverjet, the UK based all business-class airline, was struggling a bit but it has recently announced that it will begin to serve Dubai as its second destination, and they have a private terminal at both ends which chould prove quite popular as well as the price they are offering and the flight times, which allows for a connection to New York, via Luton! And lastly they also have an advantage over EK as they do not operate into LTN as yet, and I dont see them doing so as they already operate from both LHR and LGW.
Personally i prefer it over the “old” livery
…the latest livery is much nicer than either of their previous two colour schemes
WHAT! (rubbing eyes in disbelief!)
That new livery is utterly hideous!
I much prefer the ‘not-so-old’ silver-square one as it gives a much more professional and corporate look.
Will be a shame to see it go!
Both Brit Air’s CRJ200’s and Flybe’s 146’s both use the airbridges at LGW…
Have never seen any E-jets at LGW before to tell whether or not it/they can.
One question related to this subject…why do some airlines (namely EZY and FR) still use steps and airstairs, even though they are parked on gates with airbridges, something to do with cost no doubt?!:D
I am sure the IOM service was going to Q400, it may already have done so which would explain the sightings if the Q400.
Indeed LGW-IOM is already operated by Q400.
G-JEDI did the afternoon and evening services yesterday!
The livery of the a/c in the last shot is very nice…any idea as to who owns this particular a/c at all?
That is very brave going into the sea with an expensive camera…but at lesat it paid off without any problems!:D
That shot of London City is quite fantastic Paul; although it would look even better if it was taken at a busier time when all the stands are taken up with a/c! The office block across from the apron would seem to be a good spot for some photography!
Are European Air Charter going to operate the next generation of defunct airliners or what ?
Last rumour I heard was that they were getting x5 MD-80’s from an airline in China, but not 100% sure if they have arrived as yet!
Dont forget though, that the Tories have said that any further increase in aviation taxes would be matched by a decrease in other taxes…(yeah right, would like to see how that would work!)
Seeing as I come from ‘down-South’, I am not 100% clued up about other airports, but which airport has more potential…Leeds Bradford or Doncaster Sheffield?
Surely it would be in the best interest to expand the airport that has the most potential and limit expansion at the other airport…
In a similar case, Kent County Council have said that they would prefer Kent International Airport to be developed over Lydd Airport, even though Lydd has a wider catchment area in terms of passengers, it is close to natural wetlands and marshes, so the damage caused by the development of services and further expansion there would be much worse than at Kent International Airport…James (Manston Airport) will certainly agree, I am sure!:D
The biggest problem I think is that there is too much NIMBYism around…people want to be able to fly from there local/regional airport to save them from having to use big/major international airports, but then they have the ordasity to complain about the noise/pollution that it creates…
The Red Arrows are an aerobatic display team and an iconic image of this country. There job is to provide a show and wow crowds with their stunts…I cant think of any event other than the Olympics that would darw a larger crowd.
Another reason for them not being able to perform though could be ‘budget’ related…do remember that the government may have to tighten those purse strings as that recently reviewed budget starts to runs low…lol!:D:diablo:

I recorded The Mothman Prophecies from BBC1 on Wednesday night, and watched it last night.
Despite what some critics said about this film when it was released, I think it is a very good film. Granted the plot is a bit thin, but it is based on a true story, and is full of suspense.
Definatley one for the DVD collection…

Strange how they categorise it by country, then sort it by each airport and each destination…surely it would have been easier to organised it just by origin airport and destination?
Can anyone tell which country is served the most from the UK?
I assumed it would be France (for CDG), Netherlands (for AMS) or the USA?!:D
