Some nice pics there Si,
Takes me back to my days in the ATC.
I flew in a Chinnok helicopter from RAF Odiham to Wales and back.
I also had the opportunity to fly in the Sentry a/c from RAF Waddington, but it got rained off at the last minute…:(
A fork lift driver was suddenly dazzled by his colleague’s ‘chav’ shorts (pictured) and drove straight into it… (honest) 😮
LMAO.:D
Are you being serious…?!(:o)
Some very nice pics there Kenny.
I think my favourite has to be the bmi A319.
The way the sunlight shines on it is really nice.
Keep up the good work!:D
In a area of the market where the customer is often looking for fares in single digits this gives the opportunity to save even more money by limiting what you carry to very small amounts of handluggage. What that in turn does for the airline is save money on baggage handlers and fuel, which then gives them low enough costs to be able to offer said single digit fares. At some of the fares we are now seeing loco airlines can’t really afford to include anything in the price other than the seat.
The evidence from the loco’s who have introduced this already is that it does work.
Those of us who say we would rather pay as part of the fare and have a normal check-in baggage service presumably don’t fall into the ‘just want the cheapest ticket’ part of the market.
1L.
A fair point you make OneLeft…but for loyal Monarch customers, this will not go down very well. As far as I am aware, at present the fee you pay at the time of your booking includes a ‘free’ weight allowance of 20kgs…and obviously people are prepared to pay it at the moment, but if they now have the hassle of having to pre-book their luggage at an additional cost of £3.99 or paying £10 at the airport on the day…they are going to be far from impressed, and as a result, potentially less loyal towards Monarch in the future!
And just for the record…I am not a loyal Monarch customer!:D

I fall into this category because I actually like the odd frill and have no objection to paying that little bit more for an overall better service…but I would rather pay for everything in one go than have to worry about being ‘pre-booking’ stuff in advance or paying a higher cost on the day of departure.
Jose Mourhino leaves Chelsea!
Who gives a **** (beep)!:D:diablo:
I cant stand football, give me F1 motor-racing anyday!:D

Dropping the DTW is not suprising really because Northwest Airlines have managed to negotiate slots out of the LHR, through their Skyteam partners, and are going to be operating a daily service to DTW, so BA have probably made a decision to drop it based on this.
This crossed my mind more than once, and let’s try to keep it at least a bit decent.
Is there a list of registrations which must absolutely not be issued, and who keeps track?
I would imagine that there is a list somewhere that has the details of registrations that must not be used…would be quite amusing to find ones that have been ‘abused’…lol!
I would also imagine that it would be down to the authorities/governing bodies of each country (in the UK, that would be the Civil Aviation Authority, CAA) as each aircraft has to been registered with them on the G-INFO database.

Some very nice shots there…
I love the ScotAirways Do328. I never flown on it, but just think it is a wicked a/c.
I also like that VLM F50 in the white hybrid livery…does anyone else agree that it looks rather nice, or is white just too boring?!
Great shot there Josh, the building in the background couldnt possibly be Easyland by any chance could it…?:D:diablo:
Great report…and some nice photos!:D
I would love to fly from LCY and on a prop a/c. Judging by the comments made, I think I will have to give VLM a try!
I would have thought T2 but anything I can find so far suggests T2 is going to be demolished fairly soon after T5 opens.
I was under the impression that both T1 & T2 were both going to be demolished to make way for Heathrow East! T2 will go first, then T1 will be demolished later for the second half of construction.
