XZ457 damaged by engine fire on take-off RNAS Yeovilton 20/10/1995.
Transferred to Boscombe Down Avaition Collection by July 2003, still slightly barbequed !
I’m sure Rocketeer can tell us more….(?)
From my recent conversation’s with several JAM volunteers, I believe that they have got to be seen to be vacating Staverton by the end of March.
Nigel,
Next time you see someone, can you ask what the status is of the floor level Lightning cockpit and especially the T.2 Harrier nose please….?
Did they use the two seat demonstrator (G-VTOL) for that or was it a normal RAF two seater ?
curlyboy
Curly,
The serial is shown in the photo: ZB602
I guess that answers the question ?
ZB602 was reconditioned at Dunsfold and now serves with Indian Navy as T.60 IN655.
Cheers….. 😀
.
How come the Battle is going to Medway? Interesting to see the Dak cockpit too
..’cos the Medway A/C Preservation Society have a proven track record of working (authentic) miracles.
They are currently working on the C-47 nose for (ex-‘Dakotas’, Malta etc) Hendon, of which there was a recent article in Flypast.
Also, the Battle move was in Flypast news pages recently.
Do you get Flypast Rob ?
I think he’s been keeping this quite… :diablo:
…but check out Mark G’s ongoing Hunter nose restoration.
Clicky HERE
I never realised you could cut a Hunter into sooo many bits 😮
Anybody visited Robertsbridge lately ?
If so, do you have any photo’s and/or an update on that burnt Su-7 nose section ?
Cheers…..
Caernarfon has a few nice toys…. but must struggle to keep going…
Well they may be getting a certain Shackleton nose very soon 😀
…. The Hunter cockpit has sold…..
Thought it was only on loan from the ATC ?
.
Your fingers numb today Roy ? :diablo:
BTW, whats the asking price & reason for disposal ?
.
Am not a Harrier Guru like young Dave i does ‘arvards – but……… is this (AV-8B) on the list – poss the St Athan one?
TT
Ben,
You dunno how close i came to buying your T-6 before you did…! :diablo:
Yes, AV-8B 162730 currently at St.Athan came from Wyton 😀
Cheers…….
Well spotted.
Some of us were wondering what might happen to that Gannet following the double tragedy of the owners. Very sad……. 🙁
.
Forgive my ignorance ,but the “cockpit” without a serial in Dave t’s post ,is that the 2 seater that was owned by Everetts?
Stu’,
As some wag once said, ignorance is bliss …ha, ha 😀
Yes, the two-seater T.2/4 now with Ian Sheffield in Scotland came from Everetts most recently.
Before that it came from Richard & Daryll in Lancashire, then Roy Jerman (briefly), then Stewart Holder (Long Marston) having originally been sourced by Alan Allan from the dump at Dunsfold.
Everett’s only acquired it for the canopies to make the composite now at Coventry Uni’ more complete. Richard & Daryll resprayed it, and Ian has now sourced missing canopys/frames except front perspex (so he made one).
The un-skinned intakes have been removed and those from mine (ZD670) fitted instead.
Its now looking something like it….. 😉
The ‘close to the M25 B-25’ is due to move more than a few inches very soon, David you might need to re-check your information guv.
Tom
I’ll think you’ll find Dave said it hadn’t moved an inch (past tense).
If it moves in the future, then it will have….. er….. moved !
…speaking of which.
Anybody know if Wellesbourne are doing a taxi run this year please ?
.
I believe that Alertken thinks deeply about his postings.
However I do find them incomprehensible.
I leave this one here for the time being in case clarification is forthcoming from Alertken, or someone more perceptive than I.

Moggy,
Is this modern procurement discussion suitable for the Historic Aviation forum ?
Shame they want £5K+ for it though.
I suspect its cheaper to buy direct from Everett ?
