According to the article, an ATC unit acquired it and cut off the skins, canopies etc.. to make a SIM.
They then disbanded and current owner acquired it. Full story in the article, do you want a copy ?
The owner mailed me recently about another cockpit, but didn’t reply when i asked questions about the Lightning. Must ‘av scared him off !! (ha,ha)
