Materials, Tolerances, Volume & Bureaucracy

Materials and Size must have some bearing but modern CNC machines take the tolerances and volume out of the question so one is left with the Bureaucracy.

Probably the same reason that anything built with public money from a road to a building seems to cost an order of magnitude more than a private commercial facility.

Factory built microlights operate on a permit to fly and can be hired for instruction (either paid or unpaid) and for solo use.

With that sort of cash I’d have a Bulldog (with the extra seat) and let the rest pay the upkeep.

I’d probably have to buy something else to fly when it’s in for maintenance so I should have a few pennies left for a BA4B
