I must admit Jim, you had me fooled. I thought you were a thinking man. It turns out you’re just another one educated by American television and movies, unable to discern the difference between Hollywood and the real world, and willing to throw about giant generalizations regarding millions of people you obviously know nothing about. You’re no better than Paul.
A visit to the U.S. and a ride with some troopers decades ago wasn’t enough to give you any real perspective on this huge land and the over 300 million diverse people and opinions they have. And it’s obvious your understanding hasn’t gotten any better since that trip. Since the last time we talked you have posted several offensive generalizations and mischaracterizations that clearly show you don’t understand any of the basic tenets of our constitution, state laws, or federal laws. Many of your posts use the favorite American liberal tactic of over use of the “straw-man” argument. You’re just making up stuff you learned on TV and falsely insinuating that all or most legal gun owners think or act that way. All of our problems in the U.S. are directly related to criminals with guns, criminals being released early, criminals striking plea deals and serving little or no time, and lack of enforcement of some very good existing laws. Problems with legal gun owners are so small as to be insignificant.
He comes cross like my step-dad whose entire opinion of the US was based on a 4 day visit to San Diego back in the ’60s when he was in the RN & the crap he’d seen on TV. Never had a good word to say about the place or the people.
Then I moved to the US & he came to visit. After that first visit he loved it & came back every 12-18 months until he health issues stopped him. Him & my mother would always stay for 4 weeks & go on road trips all over the place, often gone for 10-12 days.
