Nice to see the Snap-on tool box on the bench do you have any Metric sizes in there?
That box contains the *household* tools. The mechanicing/welding/fabrication/machining tools etc are in the other boxes… & yes, I have oodles of metric tools, I ride Kawasakis & drive a Chevy ๐
There are 2 of these:
And:

This one is my 12yo daughters:
There must be a Vulcan nut out there who has won the lottery , musn’t there?
Yes, but I only won $6 on Friday ๐
Personally I take my hat off to his engineering team, who constantly prevent him from looking completely incompetant; instead only slightly. Project managers are all well and good, but engineers make it work.
Absolutely, They have done a remarkable job considering who they have to work for. I can only hope that he doesn’t have any say in what the guys who actually do the work get to do. The seemingly constant “you might not have a job next week BS would drive me batty, I’d have probably removed his liver with a dull spoon if I was on the team.
Logged onto the beeb this morning & this was on the front page:

The last airworthy Cold War Vulcan bomber could fly in public for the last time on Sunday unless its owners can raise ยฃ400,000 by the end of October.
400K by the end of October? I assume this is so they can do Winter Maint actually during Winter.. instead of May/June…
I simpathise, I must have over 50 old Stanley and Record wood planes…….
I need help too:D
We coined a new word at GarageJournal.com last night:
“Afflictionardo”
I think that’s fairly self explanetary ๐
Time to give up yet DOOOOOOMSTERS!!!!!! ??
Are you refering to us sceptics.. or Plemings latest fund raising team? :p
Yes…something very sad going on here…vices ? Should be carefull really…I just aquired a 1930’s swivel designers chair !!!!! known to have come from Dunsfold, and the very chair that Sir Syndey Camm sat on at his design table throughout his time at Hawkers !!(Fury’s,Hurricane, Tiffie, Harrier ect..). Just need a picture of him sitting on it, in his office. Wow !! provenance…if…
I know where the Donald Douglas’s desk is sat… it should be on display at SMO soon
Getting there..

have you ever been involved in trying to attract major investment to anything? You can’t just hold the buckets out for that level of cash.
Yes I have, Geldofs BandAid fiasco, people threw millions at it.
Its the same arguements over and over again. Pease silence this broken record.
That’s EXACTLY how I feel about Pleming…
Well it kind of happened by accident.. yanno, first you have a swivel & a machinist vice… then you see another *better* one…& so it begins…Best score so far was a $600 Wilton for $50
& then someone started this thread:
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44782
..which now has over 840 replies covering 40+ pages……
& for gods sake don’t look at the “show us your toolbox” thread in the same forum….
……3800+ posts…
Whatโs a โB-U-Sโ???
I believe they are usually refered to as “airliners” on this forum…..
๐
What’s so telling about that?
Apparently no one with XH is aware of anything bad happening with the economy in the past 2 or 3 years? Where the hell have they been???
Basically:
“We currently don’t know why” = “We haven’t got a bloody clue”
This is rather telling:
Despite investing heavily in an advertising campaign in various media, we havenโt yet seen any significant return โ this is a major concern as we currently donโt know why.
Seriously??
It was on Fox news here this morning, They showed the guy arriving home from Reno with a small trailer full of scrap. I don’t think that was his first rodeo either…
Dropped into my inbox this afternoon…
They want to sell “doom & gloom”? What the hell has been sold to the public since this whole campaign to keep XH558 in the air? Threats of grounding, scrapping or sale abroad certainly smack of ‘doom & gloom’ to me.
And I wonder how much money is being syphoned away from running XH558 to this “professional PR company”? Bet it ain’t cheap. And with what end result I wonder?
Yet more ultimatums from Pleming that if people don’t cough up the readys then we can kiss XH558 goodbye for good….“so they are almost certainly on the right track…”
Jeezuz…….
You gave got to be frigging kidding me?? That’s their plan??
Hangars ain’t cheap, especially one big enough for the two of ’em!
Is it feasible to dismantle, transport and reassemble hangerage from any number of closed or soon to be closed RAF airfields?
Where did the two T2’s at Dx come from?
