Wreckage from the cow catapault scene?

    Sorry….

I wasn’t aware that catapults were used for anti-aircraft duties?:diablo:

I wonder, How much would a fullsize pilot figure like that cost?

Look in the dumpsters for damaged manikins behind dept stores …

I think you’l find the only people benefiting financially from warbird ownership are those guys who bought P51’s when they were $3500 each & recently sold them…

Generally, aircraft are aluminium lined holes they you shovel money into.

greetings, my name is robert i am from the southeast usa. i recently aquired a british Mk2 ANM2 in .303 cal. it has a mount that a “type 1 holder” mounts to. can anyone tell me where i could find a 100 round ammo can to go in it?
    robert

Sure, but do you require live ammo or dummy? If that thing actually works you will be in for a world of hurt from the ATF without the correct permits & tax stamp etc.
303 ammo isn’t cheap like regular US .30cal stuff, you could pay up to $1/round.. & thats for both live & dummy ammo.

    Edit:
Just reread your post & realised you need the can, not the ammo.. n/m

The fact that we are a modern, successful first world country means we breed like rabbits and the rabbit cubs survive.

    Rabbit *cubs*???????:p

Obviously, if the UK had been involved the US wouldn’t have lost 😉

If they could be “un-demilled” they’d sell for a LOT more than that.. 😉

On the subject of Merlin tools… I picked this up, which is PERFECT for the intake plugs on a Merlin 🙂

Long enough & thin enough so you can reach across without stuff getting in the way when removing plugs.. & you can stick a crowsfoot on the end for removing the leads from the plugs.

Almost looking forward to having a P51 show up with a misfire..:D

It comes in 1/4, 3/8 & 1/2in versions. I have the 1/4 & 3/8 🙂 The elbow swivels 180deg total & the ratchet head swivels a bit more than that.

In a related line i talked with the guys working on SALLY B and they say the new engine will be on and working by Tuesday so hopefully things are looking up for her as they have had so much bad luck of late.

I’m not convinced luck has anything to do with it….

Hi guys.We have been asked to do a small service on the cutaway Merlin 61 at our museum. Was wondering what is needed in the standard Rolls Royce Tookit for spanners etc..:o

We have one at the hangar, I’ll take pics & list whats in it tomorrow if I have time. I’m elbow deep in a DC2 & a P51 tho so time may be a bit short.

Other race track/test tracks that were former RAF/USAAF bases include:-
    Goodwood (Westhamptnet)
    Pembury (Pembury  )
Gaydon (Gaydon – V bomber base)
    Croft (?)
Boreham – Ford test track and old rally team HQ (B-26 base)

Over the past 20 or so years, I’ve also competed in many motorsports events (mostly rallying and sprinting) at Debdon, North Weald, Thorney Island, Oakington, Watton, Bovingdon and Enstone to name a few…. 🙂

    *Ahem* Thruxton 😉
