I wonder why one and not the other?
Perhaps they see static aircraft in more of a historical context as opposed to flyable planes?
As the BoBMF and CAF (and many others) show, warbirds can be operated in historic context.

If the criteria is historic context, why not on plastic kit decals?

    Interesting.

    because, WE won the war 😉 😀 😀 😀 😀

In the US it seems any old serial will do, witness PA908 at Wright-Patt which is painted as MBsomeorother… altho i did add “PA908” to several places inside the aircraft that would be visible if it was dismantled, deskined & had the fabric removed…..
Can’t have these bloody colonial chaps ********* about with serial #’s on Spits!

Twelve O’Clock High was (as in my original post ) filmed at Barford St. John Oxfordshire in 1949

Just had a google at that place, whats it used for these days? Seems to be some sort of test facility for those rather large rotary washing lines?

The Radar tests HAVE been done and several attempts have been made to present them to council/ Military and the News mail.

I am not sure how ZRX61 can prove the 4 Harleys he has seen (in the USA? or elsewhere) are from the Bundaburg Bunkers? other than on Ian’s say so? but if Ian Cotterial has libberated 4 Harleys from there via the “one still active that has been known of the entire time by ALL”, why not get him to take some digital pics next time he is in there, surely cheaper than $250,000, I am sure there would a Current Affair show willing to go in with him!

WTF??? The Cotteril HD’s were dug up in Devon/Dorset back in the late ’70’s/early 80’s & have sweet FA to do with Australia.

When anyone first hears anything of the Bundaberg Bunkers, the reaction is “yeah bull****e”. We have all heard of Buried Harleys still in their create etc etc and most will dismiss the story as just that, as many have done in this forum.

The guy who dug them up is named Iain Cotteril. I’ve had my hands on 4 of those bikes…

There’s quite a few before/after pics on the site & I think they said how much of the stuff they’d used.

How long does this stuff last when you start using it?

Do you know of a supplier in the UK?

Depends on the amount of rust & how big the part is. 1gal & a recirc pump will do an M2 (the gun, not the tank 😉 )

There’s another company that makes similar stuff under the name of Rusteco.

If there’s no UK distributor etc I may have to call my step bro & have him start importing it… if it’s financially viable.

    Looks fine to me

Yeah, looks ok in that pic. but in this one looks a bit wonky…the forward black stripe looks to vary in thickness quite a bit…(in this pic)

Appears to be caused by the TFC website software because it shows up ok on this site, but not on theirs..
