Here’s what looks to be me stood outside my garage in front of my Dually. I’m guess they were trying to see what I have hidden away in there owing to them waiting until I had the door open to take the picture… 🙂

MkVIIIc MT719 (who owned this at that time? Wasn’t it some racing company?), but I’m not sure about who flew them.

Adrian Reynard owned it. What an absolute PIG to push around, the castor or toe-in on the undercart is different to Mk9’s (apparently) so it feels like it has the brakes on all the time. I remember it took at least 5 or 6 people sweating like a fat girl to move it, whereas me & SG pushed 417 out early one morning when we were the only 2 at the hangar & it was a *piece of cake* (sorry, lol) in comparrision. He ran ahead to open the gates at the fence leaving me to push it by myself with no trouble at all. He was off to Coventry for some fly by/display, don’t remember the details.
The Mk8 landed at Duxford one morning with Adian at the controls & he was close to tears. He’d taken off somewhere near Oxford & done a beat up over Beachy Head & got all emotional about it.
That plane is now in Texas & I’d told a friend of mine who has a Merlin shop on the same field what it was like to push. About a year later I got a “thanks for the warning, I don’t want to do that again” msg from him 😀

Almost got lynched by some Shelby guys when I told em I was gonna paint my FFR Cobra that colour…

Some silly ****** has put the prop on the wrong end of that bright blue one…. 🙂

Argie pilots are to be found in the immediate area on occassion..

Lockheed employ 10 test pilots on the JSF program…
