The reason they got out yesterday was because after I was rear ended & ragdolled off my bike & across 4 lanes of LA freeway at the weekend it took damn near 15 minutes to walk 60ft to their cage.

The goat escaped from the neighbours yard & walked into MY back yard…

The rabbit was free range, no cages & my pups are fine around kids, they visit the school across the street all the time (on leashes).. & it now appears that my pups went into the neighbors yard to take down a Coyote, I missed that part of the fun, neighbor found the Coyote this morning. Not so bad afterall 🙂

How about diesels radials? The A&P school at Van Nuys Airport has some Guiberson’s that I think are diesels.

It is indeed for tying down purposes. I have yet to see it used even for engine runs.

A few years back was doing engine runs of MoF’s Mk14 at Van Nuys, hot as hell with the temp in the high 90’s. To help keep it cool bags of ice were tipped into the rad cowls.
The blast fence backed up to a row of industrial units & the people who worked there parked by the perimeter fence between the building & the blast fence. Got the Spit wound up & the air flow started to suck the ice out of the front of the rad cowls. It was blown back into the blast fence & then went straight up & was landing on the parked cars by the industrial units. I couldn’t hear it hitting the cars, but the workers evidently could because suddenly there were a bunch of them outside & then taking cover as they being hit by high velocity ice cubes.
I responded by piling more ice into the rad cowls & *accidently* spiling a couple of 20lb bags right into the prop wash. :diablo: :diablo: :diablo: :diablo:

I didn’t think to handicap all Spitfire restorers, I will know for another time.

    Dagnabbit.. :p

Don’t hesitate, just post them here 😉

I don’t have a scanner, I gave up with them as the temp here in the Mojave kills them in about 2 weeks flat….

Very attractive back seat passenger too.

The phrase used around here for giving some fine looking piece of totty a ride in a warbird is “tuna flights” :diablo:

Many years ago Avro’s Finest walked out of the TFC office building & found some oik peeing up against the side of the T2… ‘hey, thats looks just like a real penis.. only smaller” at which point everyone within earshot turned to look… 😀

There’s a scrap yard near here that has a drop tank mounted on a pole by the gate & just up the road a bit from my house is a complete(?) R4360 QEC from “something large”. It’s actually sitting right next to the road. I’ll nip out there & get a pic when i have a few mins spare 🙂
There’s also a pile of S2 bits at another scrap yard about 6 miles away over near Edwards AFB, it also contains what I think are Carobou control surfaces (& a pile of ’60’s Ford Mustangs.) They don’t even have a phone out there…

No pics on here from Pounds Yard in Portsmouth? There used to be piles of aircraft in that place at one time & I seem to recall someone tellling me they were seafires?
It’s also the place where The Who filmed part of Tommy back in the 70’s, you could see heaps of those sea mines from HMS Excellent (Whale Island).

Yup, it’s the tie down tubes the rope passes thru in the lower surface of the wings 🙂

Ya have to also rememeber that not every round has an identical load. When I’ve been out messing about with the M2’s we’ve sometimes had a round with such a light load it wouldn’t load the next round so ya have to recock the gun. Israeli ammo is a LOT better than some of the Dominican crap I’ve fired.

Steven Craig’s Wildcat has the original paint inside the fuselage & cockpit, also under one of the fuel flaps. I guess 50 years at the bottom of Lake Michigan is a good place to preserve paint….
