If you want an easier life when stripping paint: Apply the stripper, then cover it with aluminum foil (don’t let the mrs catch you walking out of the kitchen with it…).. walk away for 45 minutes.

Lockheed are having a Skunkworks/ADP 75th Anniversary event. P38 23Skidoo showed up yesterday, along with a Vega & an Electra… at which point Northrop put a B2 up to steal some of the attention 🙂

The US didn’t want the post-war market flooded with their equipment and aircraft so as to protect home industry and exports.

They still do this, try importing Hueys from Central/South America back into the US.

Now they’re starting on the inside & are in talks with the city regarding the hangar across the road from it. It needs a bit of work & they’re looking at possible historic preservation deal to bypass a multitude of California building codes.

I think he already had most of the spare cowl & the prop was back at the factory seemingly within hours of the mishap

This showed up today. P-8 fuselage for stress testing. Boeing drove it here from Seattle.

Not surprised that craters would still be there. There are parts of France in the Ardennes with 100yo craters & parts of Laos look like it was carpet bombed by B52’s last week. (Xiangkhouang Province, Laos on Google Earth)
