Glad they’ll be of use 🙂
Nice find 🙂
Thankfully we’ve now got a full set of these, if anyone has any leads on Mk IV autopilot gyros though that’d be great

Marshall ADG have a well recognised apprentice scheme and will be recruiting soon. It’s Cambridge so a bit north of you but could prove a useful stepping stone to Duxford etc
PM me your address and I’ll send one over next week if you want
John
Hi Elliott
We had some made up, so I’m sure we can spare you one 🙂

Hi Chaps
Just to confirm that we’ve been working with Flypast to identify if the wing is indeed Stirling. 🙂
John
Hi James
the majority of the drawings are of minor individual parts and are of varying quality, I see no reason why they can’t be made available for any interested parties to view 🙂
John
thanks Rob
They’ve come as an unexpected bonus :). There was also what appears to be a single Fairey Battle drawing in the mix too……

A quick update; the RAFM recently offered the Project some original Stirling Blue prints. When we collected them there was a lot more than we were expecting; some 4 boxes worth with each mounted on hardboard. Some are of very poor quality having been ‘wiped’ with some form of solvent which appears to have destroyed the detail, however the vast majority are in excellent condition and certainly good enough to fabricate components from.
I’d like to extend our thanks to Ian Thirsk and the staff of the RAFM for their kind donation which will be put to good use.
Thanks Martin
That would be very much appreciated 🙂
Have you got my address?
cheers
John
Best you wear a hard hat…….
jacking as detailed in the AP
Belated follow up post Newark
We’ve acquired an almost complete set of fuel tank levers for the FE position (courtesy of Air Ministry) and also now have a complete set of junction boxes plus looms for the bomb bay. We also managed to get hold of some more MkIV autopilot equipment including an oil reservoir, air throttle, servo and single and 2-axis gyros. If anyone knows where there’s a lid ofr a Mk IV 2-axis gyro can you please let me know 🙂
Finally, we’ve been working on the release mechanism for the Sutton Harness. Did Shorts use an off the shelf release item? Oh no! They had to go and design a massively complicated affair that’s a pain in the (expletive deleted) to make

Hi Simon
We’ve got an FN7 cupola on display at Wytons’ Pathfinder museum, I can ask if they’ve got any good photos of it which I can forward on to you
John
Hi all,
I’m looking for a copy of the drawing for the main instrument panel for a Halifax – or the drawing number – to begin a panel build.
Best case would be a copy, but even the number would be a start and allow me to request one from RAFM.
Regards,
Rich
