I’d thought exactly the same thing, Moggy. No doubt we can expect a knock on the door from the thought control militia.
Spotted in Old Wardens secret underground hangar this morning, a completed Sparrowhawk G-ADNL snuggled in with other gems and just waiting for paperwork clearance. Now that’s a bit of a surprise, isn’t it ?
O.K. so it’s only 1:72 and made out of plastic – but you knew that all along, didn’t you ?

As the M77 Sparrowjet, G-ADNL won the 1957 Kings Cup race painted in a white gloss finish with dark blue registration marks and a black race number 92 on the fin ( according to my Putnams).
It certainly will not be repaired by that date. Also unlikely to be open I would think.
Many thanks for that, Dm.
It’s off to Peterborough for the NVR Steam Gala then
Has anybody got the gen on whether the Air/Super-Hanger will be repaired and reopen by this Sunday, as I may be heading out that way with some non-aviation friends. I know that there’s lots more to see, but I would be reluctant to take them with the main attraction (for non-aero people) off limits. The website has no further news at the moment.
Also I notice no Autumn show this year, is this a permanent deletion or just because they’ve got 3x 2-day events, with the September show back a week to coincide with BoB weekend ?
As you knowledgable types out there knew all along, even without the aid of my terrible puns, it’s a Tipsy Trainer; G-AFSC, here pictured at Panshanger a couple of years ago.

My response to these calculations appearing in a GD forum is – if it’s that easy, why hasn’t somebody done it ?
It’s European rather than American, it’s certainly a Trainer, and the solution is a wee bit inebriated.
(Axel – do you get the impression we’re the only two people looking at this thread ?)

Stearman is correct, Axel – if you need any tips for the cockpit picture, all I will say is that you could probably wear trainers flying this aircraft (and for those of you who know the answer, apologies for the terrible pun).
just anyone post
Right, try these two – one is very easy, the other is quite simple

I remember a Sycamore displaying at Old Warden in the 70’s- can anyone recollect the number , and where is it now, if extant?
Suggest WP as he got the first correct answer. I also have a few tricky ones in mind, having had a look thru’ some of my pix.
Dan, nice idea. When I was young I bought a LP vinyl of “aircrafts sounds…anyway how to convert into mp3 ??cheers olivier
There are some modern, fairly low quality turntables that are capable of effecting this – about£100 – that’s probably the easiest option.Otherwise you’ll need a ‘conventional’ turntable and a kit containing leads and appropriate software to load onto your computer – Maplins do one for about £20.
Airbus A380 ?
Axel
Without reference to any sources of info, I would hazard a guess that the tail boom belongs to a Merlin helicopter. The multi-bogied undercart suggests one of those big Antonov jobbies – am I heading in the right direction ?
