A few from Marham ’93, just before the Victor fleet went out of service. I’d purchased a new auto-everything SLR camera the day before and managed to set it up incorrectly. These are the pitiful remnants of several rolls of very underexposed slide films. The lesson being – never attempt irreplacable shots with a strange camera.
You’re either very tall or had a truck or tripod? With my tripod legs fully extended and holding it at arms reach, I can manage to get my camera to about 12 feet, but these look much taller.
Simple, Vultee – there was a open top double-decker doing flightline tours!
Some ‘untreated’ pics from Biggin Hill c.1993 – it’s sobering when you realise some of them are no longer around.
Here’s a few grainy old slides from Alconbury c.’92/93 complete with dust spots and hairs (I really must figure out how to use that ancient version of Elements that I’ve got). The RAF types look like they’re just returned from Desert Storm. Enjoy, or perhaps not.
Ahh, The War Of The Worlds. I saw the live production of it at Manchester arena a couple of years ago and it was pretty damned impressive!

There’s nothing quite like elevating your own tastes above those of others, is there ?

I rather like this lady – but probably a bit too sophisticated for most Forumites…..

They are also apparently sorting out some new filming technology which will likely be used in the making of it, including new 3-D cameras according to reports.
‘Dambusters’ in 3D ? Yippee ! To make the experience even more realistic, fit sprinklers in the cinema and douse the audience as the dams are breached….
Hadn’t seen this in years. A bit silly at times, but some serious ass-kicking by Swayze and co.
If you agree with the concept of Synchronicity – as Jung and 91Regal both do – the day it was announced that Patrick Swayze had pancreatic cancer also saw the death of guitarist Jeff Healey, who appeared in the Road House movie with Swayze.
You really wanted to know that, didn’t you ?

Have any of the ‘Legends’ DVD’s been issued in a full 1080p format yet (i.e. requiring a Blue-Ray player), or is that too expensive for what is a specialist market?
Who on Earth would pay $24 for a pizza in the first place
Steve, this is Britain, the rip-off capital of the world

I always thought the SBS were the Special Boat Squadron ?
Anyway, don’t talk trains to me, I waited for best part of an hour on a draughty overbridge at Welwyn Garden City station yesterday morning, expecting a Duchess on the front of a charter – only to find two 86’s top-and-tailing, which ain’t quite the same.
I’ve seen that 47 before, riding trailing Thunderbird behind a Tornado charter thru’ Welwyn North on the ECML. Do you know where the 57 was dragging it to ?
late edit: The Duchess did come through about 3 minutes after I walked away – the 86’s were hauling another charter, which I did’nt know about!
