Incidentally, I’m really impressed that our so called no hoper has just won a silver medal in the high jump, it gives us confidence, anything could happen after this, it’s the same old story, once the tidal wave gets going, who knows where medals will come from, as long as it isn’t Australia, Steve.
Actually, Pete, that ‘British’ guy formerly represented Jamaica, and only switched allegiance recently (availability of funding?). Have you noticed the amazing amount of former Africans running for various Gulf States? I daresay that’s something to do with finance rather than a lifestyle choice.

I’m of a similiar mind to Kev and Daz – just give it to the next passing Hobbit and do a runner.

All best wishes to you Steve, let’s be having some more typical Oz bull from you before too long. To Steve’s family, chin up, as you can see there’s lots of people from all over rooting for the man.

Various listing sites are flagging up an event called ‘Fly to the Past’ at Cornbury park Estate, near Kidlington, on a date in August. In previous years such an event has taken place, at nearby Blenheim Palace.
The show listed would be a good one ( if it happened ) including DC-6, WW11 warbirds, Typhoon and more- it also lists a Skeeter ( all grounded now ) and this error, as well as confusion over dates leads me to wonder if this event is wishful thinking – anybody know ??
If you log on to Flightline UK you will find that this show has been cancelled.
I live literally less than 5 miles from DX. I always aim to get onsite for about 7am. Park up, relax, and then chill knowing you’re in.
why bother? just troll along about 1 o’clock, park up somewhere local, plonk yourself on the motorway bridge, and you’ll see and hear the Vulcan. And you should be able to make a quick getaway.
Everything else you would have seen umpteen times this year anyway.
When you have a cat that size it is not advisable to try moving it off the heartg rug on a winter’s night.
……or even try moving a whippet off your bed when it’s got nice and comfortable, as my fingers know to their cost. Nice vid, could have done without the soppy music, though.

Being older than you geezers, I’ll remember him for the album ‘To Be Continued’ in which he turned Bacharach & David’s saccharine tune The Look of Love into something really soulful and sexy. Goodnight & sleep well, Mr. Hayes.
By way of a tenuous link, can anyone remember the name of a BBC series of (I think) late 80s/early 90s in which a Brit travels to the USA to find the members of a long defunct vocal group – I seem to remember Isaac was one of the group, and several other well known soul men were in the series.

Actually – what about Martin-Baker as a manufacturer with no survivors?
As a general statement, I think they’d take issue with that – they do a good line in bang seats.:p
(O.K. Jeepman, I know you refer to the lack of surviving airframes, just thought that line was a bit unfortunate).
Nice pics there, but spill the beans, Ollie – what were you saying to Mr. T after he’d finished his display ?:diablo:
ref the above, some info here, gleaned from another forum
