😀 I’m up for it – let us know if any donation towards arrangements/expenses required – can we bring a buddy, or even the Mrs?
Dennis
 four Sea Kings in loose formation flying NNE over Welwyn Garden City at 09.25 this morning – purpose, destination anybody?
there was an article in Aeroplane monthly during 2006; a guy in the States has rebuilt a L5 with the appropriate piece of Brodie gear mounted, IIRC.
🙁 It’s happening to me as well, and I’m definately ticking the box
i knew it was a DA42,just the first time i’ve seen one in the flesh
thanks for posting this pic, Tartan, I spotted that somewhat unusual aerial carriage overflying Welwyn Garden City a week ago and thought I was hallucinating.
Just a few shots that I took at the Salthill & Portrush airshows in Ireland over the summer.
and very nice they are too, casp3r….. any more?
Think the wife see’s me as something a bit different she says i am carrying a bit of extra weight and sometimes a bit slow, Any suggestions?
….C124 Globemaster….
There’s absolutely no indication of this in the relevant Putnams ‘bible’. Bristol were also asked to submit against the same requirement (15/38 ) but later withdrew – I wonder if their proposal might have resembled their Type 159 bomber mock-up of a slightly earlier date. The FC1 and the Type 159 bear a superficial resemblance, so one could speculate that the FC1 bomber version – if it was ever a glint in the designers eye – would have ended up looking like the Bristol.
F117 going out of service? ….now I know I’m old.
So buy my ’84 Camaro
sorry, 838, went out and bought a Dodge Caliber – I can’t get my Whippet and her travel cage in the back of a Camaro or Saleen Mustang.
P.S Donot like the new paint .If with hanger space at duxford freed up because of airspace moves she going inside over winter .
She should have done back to plain metal.
The repaint offered was a great deal, that’s why they took advantage of it ……. natural metal looks good but is a ‘dog’ to keep clean and offers much less protection.
Nothing puts off the Old Warden hardcore…
Things did get a bit damp though.
All in all, a good show despite the c**p weather, but I wasn’t looking when the M1c went up on an air test early on – and missed it flying yet again.
Will one of the ‘pros’ post a flying shot with a bolt of lightning zapping across the black sky in the background, I wonder?
Thanks to all helpers, pilots etc at Old Warden for another entertaining and safe year.
Thing 2 – SkyTech’s little helo sat running it’s noisy gas turbine engine right in front of our section of the crowd all the way through the Spitfire’s excellent display.
Les – nice shots – were you the gent in the buggy trying to snap pics of a young relative in between snapping pics of the aircraft? I think that my mate and I must have been close by ‘cos the Hughes 500 was right in front of me, drowning out the proceedings on more than one occasion. But it was flown well, though.
Congrats to all involved in the show and hope they achieved their objective to raise good money for the Air Ambulance. Would certainly go again.
Very nice pics there, Scanor – particularly like the fast jet ‘almost-Balbo’, the very low C-130, and the wing-walking babe
It wouldnt be cheap
you can say that again
