It makes me sad to see this. Defacing the Bomber Command memorial is terrible enough, but to deface the Animals at War memorial is to forget the very basis of humanity.
“Animals want nothing from man except his compassion”.
    Sad, so very sad.

Talking of Meteors meeting their end what’s the story behind the Meteor tail section poking out of the dump at Wycombe Air Park?

Perhaps the bomb is just used for weight. Maybe testing pulling something else into the air?

The whole point of the war in Afghanistan was to bring peace and stability.
If we are admitting those that have helped the British Army are at risk then by definition we are admitting failure.
So how many people are at risk?
2000 + families, say 6000. Then the cooks, admin clerks, dog turd sweepers. In fact anyone who can cadge a free ticket here, will.
Just look at the dregs we have already let in.
I’m not against letting people live here just concerned that every foreign endevour we get involved in ultimately fails and then as a country we are burdened with the people from that country. The good, the bad, the indifferent, the terrorists, criminals.
We happen to be in a recession and broke btw.

This may have been the job of my dreams but the email started…

“I wondered if we could have an exploration conversation to uncover potential synergy “

What, you want to talk about the job?

First of all I say remake Dambusters. At the end of the day if it’s a flop the original will still hold true.
If it’s a success it will be just another aviation film in our collection. But to not make it then we will never know.

CGI. For cgi to be effective it has to be subtle and, to some extent not visible to the audience. If we look at the digital remake of Star Wars,
it’s the scenes that blend in that are the best. Where a new scene is dropped in it grates to some extent. Gladiators, and the recently released film Oblivion use CGI to good effect.

The age of Guy Gibson. Immaterial in my opinion. Okay, so a 65 year old maybe wouldn’t work but a good actor in his 40’s that can `sell` the part will work.
I hadn’t even considered Richard Todd was too old to play the part. He just seems to sell it effectively.

For a new Dambusters film to be a success, in my opinion it needs to tell the story effectively. Have a good cast and script. Needs to incorporate CGI seemlessly.
Must make a few `nods` to the old film but most it has to be entertaining, oh and typically British!

BTW a big mistake would be to make the film Dambusters `Aviation` heavy. While that may sound like a stupid idea think back the the classic war films (and Dambusters). They rely a lot more on acting and dialog than aviation, action. Dambusters, there are scenes with flying but if you added it all up I bet it doesn’t come to much film time. Too much aviation and it will get boring pretty quickly.
