I hope we don’t get into a `I’m not backing down, you back down` scenario. It could escalate.
Shocking news, if true it wont just be Howlett’s and Port Lympne affected by this ‘poaching’ threat. Please share this and raise awareness. How can it be allowed to happen within the UK? It is shocking to see that animals in private collections are now under threat.
😡
The ultimate in human greed. To kill an animal for something that has no medicinal value what so ever. But don’t blame the poachers, blame the countries that still trade in horn. Won’t be happy until Rhino, Whales, Tiger, Gorilla are all extinct.

I wonder if anyone knows why they didn’t put Merlins on the Manchester. An easier way to rectify the Manchester’s deficiencies?
Also interested if anyone knows how the Radial engined Lanc performed against the Merlin?
BTW, while off topic has anyone seen the proposed Airfix Radial engined Lanc and Bomber RAF Supply set? Looks rather nice 🙂
Model aeroplane ‘dances’ to Strauss waltz

Pretty good control and object avoidance too!
Can’t be easy doing that in a confined space.
Exactly my concern. What if the US decide to neutralize the Koreans before they can do so them selves. The Koreans not having a capability in some ways is potentially more dangerous.

I don’t want to be a worry monster here but all this sabre rattling is very disconcerting.

6 October 1967: On a FOB-2 mission aircraft 6R-171 received several rounds. Pilot, Captain Shiver Eustice received wounds in leg and arm and was evacuated to the 18th Surgical Hospital. The aircraft was left at Dak To and arrangements were made for return by CH47. Avenger 694 received small arms fire, but in retaliation the avengers were given credit for 27 confirmed NVA kills.

Even the most cringeworthy and/or teeth-grindingly annoying advert has worked if you can remember the brand.
All the advert needs to do is plant the brand in people’s memory and their subconscious will do the rest in enough cases to make it worthwhile.
“Shake and Vac”, anyone? 😉
That’s exactly the point with advertising. Advertising is not to make you go out and buy a product. It’s all about brand awareness. You might be in the supermarket thinking “I need some toilet cleaner”, then you remember that advert on the TV and you try it. This thread is a classic example of advertising working. Lots of replies saying they are not affected by advertising and then recalling their favorite advert and brand. Esso Blue, how long since that advert stopped playing on TV? 30 years?
Smash, Fairey, Meerkats.
That’s powerful advertising!

Why does the dogs grave cause so much anger or mirth?
It would be a shame to loose what is a valid piece of aviation history and a link to the Dambusters raid. It should be preserved.
I always thought Sandy was the callsign for rescue helo’s, or perhaps any element of a rescue package which would include the Skyraider?
