If you want proof that global warming, `going green` is just a means to tax us look at the London congestion charge.
Lets have a congestion charge to decrease traffic in London and reduce emmissions. Oh wait, it’s so successfull we are not making much money? Well lets just make hybrid cars pay the charge then!

    http://www.greenmotor.co.uk/2011/01/congestion-charge-exempt-cars-hybrids.html

Which kind of defeats why they exist in the first place.

If we rearly cared about global warming we would ban all cars > 1.0 engines and develop non polluting engines. But hey, lets not worry about the 8 billion revenue car drivers contribute each year. We’ll just reclaim that from smokers.

    What happened to the T33?
I understand it was lost in an accident. Are their plans to restore the aircraft?

For fear of turning this into a Radio Ham thread 🙂
I remember a story when CB radio was being considered for the UK. It was suggested that `a certain frequency` could be used because it was clear. However the authorities wouldn’t allow it because the frequency was `still in use`. The disputed frequency was the one (or one of) used by RAF Bomber Command in WW2.
Is this true or just an urban myth?
In the end CB was given a horrid frequency much to the annoyance of taxi’s, tv, radio and the Police.

Stranger than fiction…I thought you were going to post about the B-52 shootdown by an F100…

    http://www.angelfire.com/dc/jinxx1/images/Shootdown.html

I’ve seen video of a Skyhawk being downed by another aircraft when a jettisoned drop tank took off a wing. Or the famous Lightning that fired at and injested (in it’s engine) the shackle from the target banner towing tug in front, effectively shooting itself down.

At the SAC base in Puerto Rico, a B-52G which was flying around the circut was seen to suddenly nosed over and went into into the Atlantic Ocean.

In an unusual cause… the blame was found to be either the pilot or copilot’s raft had popped and somehow pushed the control column forward and thus made the B-52 crash ….

Didn’t the prototype lancaster (or a test Lanc) go down when the life raft popped out and fouled the tail?

I don’t think that’s fair. You just witnessed it’s maximum altitude.

Hi guys, I’ve recently started a new 3D model of the Mosquito FB Mk VI. My first British WW2 subject since I started doing this stuff some 15 years ago! About time! 😀

Since this place is packed with expert eyes, I’d love to hear your feedback. I’m trying to make this one as accurate and realistic as I can, so feel free to be critical.

Here’s the current status of my 3D model:

Currently outstanding are the cockpit area and engine nacelle details, as well as smaller bits and bobs like the tail wheel, trim tab actuators and wing tip light.

If you see any errors, please let me know.

    Many thanks!

    Ronnie

Wow, that looks pretty realistic! What’s the poly count?

Someone should have the told the pilot that there is no need to dogfight with the car. Just stand off and incinerate it!
