Where is the Canberra everybody goes on about? I always look out for it but never spot it although I think I spotted the Lincoln last time.

In the scene where they practice bombing the Derwent Dam (Ladybower Reservoir) they have their bomb doors open. Is this authentic. Did 617 practice with normal Lancs?

What amazes me is how me managed to pay for it all. Seems these days we haven’t got the money to build a new rail link, or a school. But WW2. I’ll have 100+ airfields please! That’s just for starters.

    how did they go wrong?

Wasted effort on technical perfection while ignoring atmosphere and realism.
They should have traded all those beautiful models for game-play and historical accuracy. A BoB sim should be Scramble, flight to target, engage formation, down a few Stukas, get embroiled with the escort and then home for tea and scones. Not as we have now, an air start over water in a one on one, or few on few engagement because the sim can’t cope. Don’t get me started on the engine sounds and radio chatter.

As for a campaign mode, forget it!

I guess most of you have seen this, but for the benefit of those who haven’t
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iux7Ak9hKo4

That video demonstrates the problem with Cliffs of Dover. Two lone aircraft over water with corrupt radio chatter. Which is about all the sim can handle even with a state of the art PC.
So much for mass formations over London!

Wouldn’t it do more damage to a target to drop the bomb on it rather than near it? The effects of blast, heat and radiation being more devastating than flooding?

Wonder if giving someone the key affects any insurance claim. It does for your house or car I believe.

I saw a very strange thing while waiting at Blackwater for my train a few weeks ago.
A 5 bird formation of Cormorants in a very untidy V formation. Suddenly the lead bird pulled stright up, with the untidy formation following in the climb. They then all stalled out, recovered and were in perfect V formation! 😮
Not sure if this is just a random birdy thing, or a way to tidy their formation but it looked kind of neat.
    I’ve also seen a 7 bird Cormorant echelon in a perfect `missing bird` formation. 🙂

    …they fiddled a bit.

    5 crew and 9 passengers……..

The Mailey Le Camp raid losses shows that a lot of the Lancs had 9 crew. Not sure where they all sat?

In Operation Crossbow it shows colour footage of an American PR Pilot climbing into his Spitfire with both a Back and Seat parachute. Was this standard for PR pilots?

Try googling for sally b site and see what happens. Most likely a google issue but, like I say, if it puts people off it’s bad. Nothing to do with Sally B of course but still bad.
